    OK so how do they climb to the top of a herbaceous plant so they can group together and socialize with their mates. Please do not tell me they do not have mates and do not socialize as they seem so friendly all bunched up together.

    Only "wild" bananas have mates.

    The ones grown for commercial human consumption are all clones...
