I did! I asked where you got the information (what is your source) about the inflated numbers of the invasion force and the causalities count on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Pretty straight forward--I got a put-down on RichTO90, and some rambling story about the Civil War which has absolutely no connection with WWII or the question asked. Oh, another rambling story about a sailor and a missing ship. I'm sorry, that doesn't qualify as an intelligent answer.

You began by insulting my intelligence, and I admit I'm not the brightest light in the harbor, but I'm afraid my lack of understanding on this subject has more to do with your lack of knowledge than my inability to understand.

Please don't bother with your caustic remarks--I've heard enough of your bull.

    I originated this "balderdash"?
I'm sorry, but my moniker is not Shooterike...Well, not unless Otto really has it in for me.
So who is this idiot calling himself Shooterike? The idiot who is claiming that there were 4 times the killed and wounded at Omaha Beach...

But, we are talking about the "true truth", that only Shooterike knows.

    So, Shooterike...

    I ask you again...

Exactically How did the US Government Conspire to conceal the tens of thousands of casualties caused by the other MG-34/42 gunners that were firing at American troops landing on Omaha Beach.

Where are the bodies buried, and how did you find them?

Who was assassinated to keep this secret hidden for all these years?

Which documents were forged to maintain this lie?

Don't sell yourself short. We all can see your light just fine. It shines quite brightly.

Regretfully, Shooterike's dim bulb burnt out with his first post.

Takao, you are one so dim you have NO light. If you think yourself much brighter, then prove it by searching my posts to show the POSTS where I said the crap you have said I said. If you can't find even one, which you will not because it is not there. Man up or more likely in your case, boy up and apologize to me. Do not try to weasel out. I am not referring to my first post which is exact to the matter Severloh's method and I fully acknowledge. I am referring to the garbage that you claim I have said.

Did you miss my post #242, is this your dementia working overtime, or is alcohol and drugs to blame?

My money is on alcohol and drugs(given how old I believe you really are), or the dementia(given your "supposed" advanced age).

And I will tell you again, you are the idiot that originated the nonsense above. If you want answers to those questions, then you should be the one to look for them. If you wish to prove me a liar, then all you have to do is go back and find the post where I said them and tell one and all where that post is located. You will be able to do this because you know you originated the garbage. So, go ahead and make my day!

The depths of your idiocy astound me...

Did you not type this? It certainly looks like you did to me...

If you cannot follow the hotlink that will take you directly to your post, I will refer you to Page 2 of this thread, Post #21.

If your brain capacity is so abysmal that even you cannot follow these simple directions, I will provide you with a link:

So, I will ask you the same simple questions that you continuously refuse to answer...

How did the US Government Conspire to conceal the tens of thousands of casualties caused by the other MG-34/42 gunners that were firing at American troops landing on Omaha Beach.

Where are the bodies buried, and how did you find them?

Who was assassinated to keep this secret hidden for all these years?

Which documents were forged to maintain this lie?

I have proven you an alcoholic and drug addled teenager, or a senior citizen with dementia?

What you have said proves both...
    Further clarification is necessary.

I recently finished watching this film, and thought that it was the biggest train wreck I'd have seen tonight. I'm not so sure after viewing recent developments in this thread.

BUT: I believe the film's plot was more believable than Heinrich Severloh, his magic MG42, his 2000 dead pop cans at 100m, and the 70+ year US Army coverup.

Oh, yes, fascinating. They tell us exactly what you actually know of the subject and confirms your lack of understanding of German.

"Pi.F" is an abbreviation for "Pionier-Fibel", so you are simply repeating yourself, I suspect because you randomly copied it from the internet. It was originally written by Oberleutnat Volkmar Zahn as early as 1933 and described the basic duties of a combat engineer. It was one of a series of "Fibel" books first employed by the Reichsheer and carried on by the Budesheer. They are heavily illustrated "comic book"-style books of basic instruction, "Fibel" loosely being translated as "tale" as in a "fairy tale". Perhaps the most well known is the Tiger-Fibel. BTW, Verlag "Offene Worter" Berlin is actually the publisher, literally "Open Words". Since you copied it directly as it appears in most Google searches rather than as it actually appears on the cover, I strongly suspect that is where you found it.

"Der Reibert" or just "Reibert" is the colloquial name for a similar series of basic instructional books intended for new soldiers. They have been published nearly continuously since 1929. The first editor was Juris Doctor (Dr. Jur.) Wilhelm Reibert...a lawyer and soldier. The actual title is Der Dienstunterricht im Heere "Army Service Training" and was originally a single edition (again, you rendition is very evidently a cut and paste from the internet). Later, it was divided into specialty titles, such as Ausgabe für den Schützen der Schützenkompanie "Edition for the Rifleman of the Rifle Company" (or is that "Gew der Gewkompanie"?) Much of it, as befits a booklet written by a lawyer, has to do with the rules and regulations a soldier had to deal with, along with drill and tactics.

Yet another obvious cut and paste from the internet. "Gr" is the abbreviation for "Gruppe". The actual title is "Die (neue) Gruppe" (The New Group) and referred to the new Schützen Gruppe in the Zug (platoon) based on the newly fielded MG 34. Major a.D. (außer Dienst or retired) Bodo Zimmerman actually founded the Offene Worter publishing house and wrote a number of the booklets it published. This is one of them. Note that since they were privately published, while recruits were "urged" to buy them it was technically not required and they were NOT OFFICIAL HEER PUBLICATIONS. They addressed weapons, tactics, and doctrine, but were not themselves doctrinal documents. Meanwhile, I would have thought that "MG 34", published in 1937, would have been more appropriate for the subject at hand.

Yet again, bad internet searches and a worse understanding of German. As Takao already pointed out, it is Schützenkompanie. However, that is the title of H.Dv. 130 Heft (book) 2. H.Dv. 130/2a was Teil (part) a and contained two sections: A. Einzelausbildung (individual training) and B. Die Gruppe (The Gruppe). Teil b of Heft 2 was Der Schützenzug und die Schützenkompanie (rifle platoon and rifle company) and is needed to understand the place of the Zug MG in the overall context of the platoon and company tactics.

You got one right...almost. Again, as Takao noted, it is Die (not masculine gender, one of the lovely oddities of German) Maschinengewehrkompanie. "Machengewehrkompanie" would be the "do rifle company", which I suppose might fit if it was Dudley Doright commanding it. It describes the tactical operations of the machine gun company's s.MG.

Whatever in the world do you imagine H.Dv. 220/3a Fahren auf dem Wasser (driving on the WATER) has to do with anything? Aside from your continued mangling of German?

No, no interest in any classes taught by an ignoramus copying random stuff from the internet. However, I do wonder what all this bumpf has to do with Severloh. He was recruited on 23 July 1942 and assigned to Artillerie-Ersatz-Abteilung 19...not to an Infanterie-Ersatz unit. He served as a dispatch rider and then later as Frerking's ORDERLY. He was never trained as the MG gunner in an Infanterie Zug or in s.MG Zug.

Meh...Live a little and add to your post count.

This clown takes himself way to seriously, thus, I don't take him seriously at all.

Again, I remind you that you are the source of the inflated numbers and all the other non-sense. If you wish to prove me a liar, simply give the exact post where I made those claims. If you can not do that, and you will not be able to because you are the actual source. You owe me an apology.

I have been thinking this over...

I have come to the conclusion that the "Double Secret True Truth", that Shooterike will not share with us...
Is that Severloh actually missed with 9,999 shots, and that there was one magic bullet that went through 2,000 American pop cans at 100 meters.
And, that Severloh, actually died in 1963, while using the alias "Lee Harvey Oswald."
