    Takao is correct.

I'd bet this is a screencap from a flight sim game like War Thunder put through a filter to make it look old.

    Yep.

The graphics on IL-2 are very very good, and a lot of screenshots look very real without photoshopping them.

Forgot to add that the Romanian fighter is an IAR-80 or IAR-81.

It was not "snapped" from a "bomber." The P-38s were the "bombers" on the low-level ground attack mission flown on June 10,1944.

    As per the original posting

Ok. My offering of what might have happened was just a guess. So technically I was right, the pic was taken from a bomber in the form of a P-38. Cool pic either way.

    Correct.

    Technically, you are wrong...

The P-38 was very demanding aircraft of the pilot's attention, and had what was known as a "busy" cockpit. Couple this with the demands of low level flying and air combat, and that P-38 pilot has absolutely no free time to be taking pretty pictures. He is too busy trying to stay alive and/or get some kills. The only photos the P-38 pilot will be taking is with his gun camera.

Bull shit on what, my assumption of what I believed what the picture was about? Or that I think that it is a cool pic regardless of what really happened?

Friend of mine took me on the flight path in his boat when I was goofing off in Long Beach.
