How many hours per week do you watch ww2 documentaries?

How many hours per week do you watch ww2 documentaries? I personally wake up watching it on my cell phone AHC, via playstation vue and go to bed watching and have for decades. I also have subscriptions to all the good history mags and read in between history books on various times focused on American War History and Crime.

 

I try to watch a few a week. Hard when kids shows are playing all day and they're hanging all over you, lol. Generally I watch docs of subjects of WWII that I am not familiar with.

 

I'm more of a book reader and also like to look online for actual WWII footage. I would watch dozens a week, but not really many out there on where my dad spent much of his service, Ramgarh, India.

 

Almost none.
We have these TV recording thingies now that do all the watching for me.
Surely that's what they're for?

 

I'd recommend you watch AHC, the documentaries on there do not do this and they have a ton of topics. check it out

 

I learn of American war history because I love it with more interest in WW2, not because any of my kin fought in the war and a family member from my family has been in every conflict even the civil war. I even took my turn in modern wars. I just love American war history. Do you only learn because one of your family members served?

I have seen quite a few people on the forums that seem to do this.

 

ZeJanIt, I actually find all WWII era history fascinating. To make a long story short, I did not know my father was a war hero until after he died. Since he is not here to tell me himself, I find comfort in retracing his foot steps. My plan is to learn first about his specific service, then all there is to know about the CBI Theater before moving on to other theaters, as time permits.

 

to each his own. I like it, not all of it. it's pulling a history channel and starting to suck. The history channel was good in the 90's when it first came out. I have 100's of dvd's and thousands of books and I still like some of the shows on AHC. I've probably seen every doc on ww2 until then I'll keep trying to learn it all

 

now everything is digital I have started buying all the American war history stuff on Amazon..etc

This I agree with and nor do books. That's why you need foreknowledge. but to see the actual video from the time, posters, and other live things. Cross reference, cross knowledge and it's not a problem. To take ANYTHING from anywhere as gospel imho is stupid unless you have that knowledge and done that research.

I just love ww2 and war history and love seeing/reading/hearing it all day every day. I have hundreds of ebooks about every topic as well for the car. Might call me a mega history nerd. So I love AHC and use to love the history channel. what other channels do you watch for ww2 history?

 

I'd still watch, nothing like seeing the actual video. I'd mute it if it offends that greatly. personal taste. it's exciting the few times I see something I haven't yet which rarely happens.

I love HyperWar: World War II on the World Wide Web did you do that? I'll get through it all sooner or later. If so I can help with a face lift to make it more modern and put it all in a database easy to edit I assume it all text files.

What we'd do is use something liek WordPress, build a screen scraper or database importer then we'd merge all data in a test/dev site leaving the current site up and ok 100% until the new site is done, tested and oked.

After/during we'd work with you to build the new design. The amazing part is with WordPress you can give each person their own login and watch them. they can only do what you allow, even their post could be required to get your approval before going to the live site. then we could place TASTEFUL ads to generate huge income for you. We work with sites like this all the time that have huge infrastructures and move them and upgrade them.

Two things I love history and technology,....win/win. But this would also help people use it as we'd make it mobile friendly aka responsive and google would love it more as we'd update it all and bring it into 2017 coding standards.

Agreed with that, but I 'm just weird like that I guess. I love watching history when I watch TV and don't watch much else beyond crime history or modern. That's my other love crime history.
