Most of the good WW2 Events i've seen and heard of take place up north in like Pennsylvania, Illinois or Ohio. I was wondering if there are any good ones down here where I live. I live in Greenville, South Carolina, which is in Upstate SC. Are there any events in this area. The only one I know of is a Group (Can't remember the name) brings a few restored WW2 planes to our local airport (Greenville Downtown) and we have a few guys dressed up and a few vehicles as well as 40s style Jazz Band and a few set ups of historical items. It's actually really cool. I been twice and can't wait to go back. I post some pics of it on my Facebook and Instagram. But, my main question is are there any WW2 events in the Southeast?
Hello Brayden, I would research airshows for 2018, every airshow I have ever been too has a warbird or WW2 section of the show, it might not be much, but it's something. I'm not sure what your transportation situation is, but if you can drive, (with your parents permission of course) you could go with some friends to airshows, or gun shows? I've done that a few times with my best friends who aren't history fanatics like me, and they had a good time. Hopefully that is slightly helpful?
Sun 'N Fun in Lakeland, Floriday (April 10-15) is probably second in size only to AirVenture at Oshkosh, WI and always has a large warbird contingent present.
If you are looking for an airshow that is centered around warbirds, the Planes of Fame airshow in Chino California is for you. It's far away for someone like you Brayden, but I've met New Yorkers, Aussies, Japanese, and even Finns at that airshow (I've been going since 2009) The amount of warbirds, and sometimes even just the kinds of warbirds there will blow you away.
