Today is December 7th. 76 years ago Pearl Harbor was attacked. 2500 sailors and others lost their lives that day.It is up to us to remember.
Today we should also remember those other victims of Japan's initial attacks . On the 8th of December the Japanese also struck at Malaya, the Philippines, Thailand, Guam, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Wake. Some of the attacks on British territories actually occurring before the bombs started falling on PH.
That is also something to remember, the week as a whole was as Lou pointed out, awful for all involved. The British Empire was handed it's worst defeat of it's long illustrious history, while the U.S got caught with it's pants down, and was quite frankly embarrassed. Then the few colonies the Netherlands or France had in Asia or the Pacific were gone (even after the war when they were returned), Indonesia and Vietnam fighting for their independence only a few years later.
