I've followed this thread from the beginning. I don't pretend to know the details of MG, I'll leave that to the experts hereabouts. The original post by Roscoe was interesting, but at the same time meant to rouse controversy (hence the title of the thread.) It seems to me that Roscoe did not provide much evidence for his claims. Saying the same thing over and over does not provide credence to the argument. Others provided links and other sources for their claims. Roscoe has yet to do that. I think I'll stay with those who provided evidence. Thanks for the enlightenment.
Just an update re transcription for those interested in reading a personal account and some very forthright opinions not only about the Operation itself but its place in history. http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/51315-market-garden-normandy/#entry601647
Bye then, dont let the door hit you on your ass on way out. The only one refusing to engage was and is you. You were challenged to engage elsewhere on your knowledge of Biderberg. You ignored it and disengaged. You were requested to answer relevant questions on the issues you raised and you went off on tangents. Your spout Bilderberg but I doubt if you have the first clue of the orginisation and prefer to spout only what you can trawl net for and not substantial credible sources. You sir are a coward.
Just noting here another transcript which I've completed. Carington interviewed by Imperial War Museum - http://ww2talk.com/forums/topic/51814-peter-alexander-rupert-carington-mc-2nd-armd-bn-grenadier-guards-gad/
Just to give you all some prior warning - The Germans are now giving their version of the situation after Burriss's men crossed the Waal River at Nijmegan. When the later to be sacked for sitting on his arse over the Falklands Lord Carrington sat on his arse FOR SEVENTEEN HOURS. The nae sayers wont like it. I'm just hesitating and thinking whether it is worth the effort here. But here's something to test the waters. The story goes that a glider was found by the Germans with the entire plan of operations intact inside. So I guess we can assume this was carried by an officer of significantly high rank. So here's the task should you accept it. Tell me who this officer was, because despite several researchers looking for the name nobody but nobody has been able to come up with a name in the 73 years since the battle.
Oh and if you think calling me names or refusing to discus this then think again. I'll probably get banned for daring to question the official story. As you may have noticed I haven't been on here for years so banning me will have little effect on me but more effect on you when I discuss the caliber of the members on here.
What is it about post-Christmas that stirs up the loons? BTW, "roscoe" has apparently decided to share the lunacy with AHF as "eric_tull". This should be fun...the lunatic conspiracy theory that won't go away. Market Garden A controversy that wont go away. • Axis History Forum
OK perhaps the moderators should look at this response before having a go at me. No attempt whatsoever to offer rebuttal information just an utter feeble attempt at intimidation which has never worked with me. The bottom line here is that this person cannot make a reasoned argument but feels it necessary to make some kind of response and attempted intimidation is the response.
I don't care to read through 11 pages of drivel. What exactly do you propose is the truth behind Market Garden? And no, I'm not going to oblige by providing views to YouTube videos from a conspiracy group. Please... what is the "real story" behind Market Garden... in your own words.
So let me get this straight you want me to explain YET MORE to you (there's 11 pages on this thread) but as you've shown you're not going to read it or watch a video. Have I got this straight?
Correct. What exactly was the "truth" behind Market Garden? You clearly are an authority on this subject -- it should be simple for you to explain in one or 2 paragraphs, in a concise and all-encompassing manner.
Because that is exactly what every sensible military does with top secret plans; they staple them to a high ranking officer, strap him into a glider, and send him sailing into enemy territory. You are the one trying to prove conspiracy. You've offered no proof, and now can't summerise. Impressive. Or not.
Ok, I've done so. I've concluded you're an utter idiot. Thanks. Carry on, my friend. PS: That's actually one sentence.
The issue is roscoe, you've been consistently unable to provide a clear and coherent chain of thought at all though out this entire thread, beyond a rant about a halt for 17 hours and some imaginary connection to the Bilderberg group. You can't summerise your theory, because you can't hold it together longer than two skimpy paragraphs, and even they are disjuncted. Me? I still say it was all done to corner to the EU cheese market.
No the issue is that you cannot afford to read anything that's been previously said because you know that it will disturb your fluffy pink bunny rabbit view of the world. In psychology this response has a name.
I've concluded that you are too afraid to have anything to say about this and are thus placed on ignore.
