    I want to be one of the first to give a huge Thank You and say Job Well Done to OpanaPointer for the dedication and endless hours (years) providing us with HyperWar. In my estimation the Webs premier WW2 information and research site. I've logged literally thousands of hours over the past several years reading just a smidgen of what is available.

    If I were 40 years younger I'd consider naming my firstborn after him. Which would be rather odd having a daughter called Larry.

    To answer a question that hasn't been asked yet, this is a total turnover. I'll be 67 in a few days and after a month with antibiotic-resistant pneumonia I'm feeling it. Happily, Dr. Feelgood has Rx'd plenty of scotch.

    A heartfelt "thank you" to you and the late Patrick Clancey for putting together one of the top (if not THE top) WWII website on the inter-webs. And I couldn't agree more with your decision to turn over the reins to Otto. Well done. Now, go take your medicine. :hungover:

    Thanks Larry. Hyperwar is a tremendous resource for the study of WW2. The work that you and the late Patrick Clancey have done is nothing short of amazing. Now that it will be in the very capable hands of Otto, it's safe to say that the quality of the site will be maintained. Good show all around.

    I'd suggest a bit larger venue if I knew of an appropriate one. If I were an academic it seems the sort of thing a honorary degree or some such would fit. The site is an incredible resource.

    I do hope Otto doesn't get overwhelmed.

    My own vision of the site was that it be done completely anonymously. As I told the head of a certain historical center "I'm not Gutenberg, I'm not the guy who ran his press, I'm the guy who made the paper."

    Hyper war is a hell of a great resource. Larry's work there cannot be lauded enough.

    My obsession with preserving historical data has come full circle, hyperwar being what it is. Very pleased to be part of his effort.

    Larry's done outstanding work and high praise needs to be directed to Otto for your gargantuan efforts of expanding on your original idea. Most notably resurrecting defunct sites that would be lost forever. I'm currently pecking along one letter at a time on a tablet with a stylus, so you can imagine my admiration.

    I'm currently in the process of relocating across the country, so my ability to respond and update is limited. I'll have more to say about hyperwar and other WW2F updates come February. 2018 will be a good year for WWII history online.
