    My dad was in the Fifth Army. My cousin was in Navy and unfortuately went down on the LCI-32 in Anzio while assisting the LST-422. I have traced my dad’s trek through Italy and visited the memorial at Anzio. I brought home a bottle of water and beach sand from Anzio to pour on my cousin’s grave.
    On a quest for a picture of the LCI-32 and search constantly. If anyone has seen or has a photo I would greatly appreciate to hear from you.

    I did not find a photo of the LCI(L)-32, but there a photos of other ships in the same class -- LCI(L)-220, for example. I did find some documents that may interest you, assuming you have not seen them already. Here is a 2 page report of the incident:

    Have you checked the archives of the New York Shipbuilding Co., Camden, NJ.

    Landing Craft Infantry LCI

    You could also check the local papers in Camden.

    Hi MaryAnn. Welcome to our corner of the internet. My father was also in the 5th Army and landed at Salerno. Do you know what unit he was in? The same goes for your cousin. Names, paperwork, etc., would be helpful..
