Didn’t an Aussie win the gold in one of the speed skating events when 4-5 of the leaders ahead of him crashed a few games back? I went skiing in Banff, Canada 3 times and a majority of the ski resort employees were from Australia and New Zealand. They got a lot of slope time in while off duty.

I wonder why no one has pointed out that "taking a knee" was a traditional sign of respect and submission.
Because in the case of the current tendencies of those nfl’ers doing it, it is their intent to disrespect the anthem and bring awareness to their cause in their protests. When the national anthem is played, the custom is to stand up (or at attention if so inclined), face the flag, remove your hat, and put your right hand over your heart. They choose to take a knee in protest, which is taken as blatant disrespect to most people.
Wow. Just Wow. America. Where the average person is kind of ignorant and 1/2 the population is even more ignorant. Where else could there be a place where a professional player can honor his fallen brothers by kneeling out of view behind the team. He is then told by a war hero that the way to honor the fallen is to take a knee like soldiers do. Up front and before the flag. And the divisive propaganda machine twists the story to get people to believe it is disrespecting the country, military, fireman, police and maybe the Boy Scouts too. Americans are too lazy to google the truth.
There’s no divisive propaganda machine at work here. It’s strong personal feelings for their country, for those that have reverence for such things you take lightly or don’t agree with. The kneelers are protesting their cause during the nation anthem. Lots of folks take that as blatant disrespect. NFL viewership numbers and support are down over it. I’m not saying that they should be stopped or penalized for it, it’s just that their actions contribute to my “could care less” position on their position. They are free to do whatever they please, and I am free to not support them nor watch two teams that I could care less for play in a game that I’m not interested in watching to begin with. Wow, why is my lack of interest in the NFL, two teams I have no interest in, playing a game that I could care less about such an important issue here?

Yep, that's been a standard since Nam. Love it or Leave it. That's what I tell'em. If you can't handle our freedoms, or are some kind of snowflake, try North Korea, or the Philippines, where the weather can be nicer and they have lights for some sort of night life.
No where did I mention any race or the playing of the race card in this discussion of why or why don’t I get ape shit crazy over what I consider an insignificant event. I’m tickled shitless that you enjoy the Super Bowl. Like you, I played football in high school (2nd team, offensive guard). And as I mentioned earlier, I prefer watching collegiate football to the NFL. Just LSU and who they play. Why is that an issue for you? Go watch your NFL games and enjoy yourself. In this TRUMP world I think most Americans are showing incredible tolerance...Every American I see interviewed on TV (quite a few) all want to vomit when he is mentioned, they apologise and squirm...I feel for you guys, I really do. Many people did and many did not. In the beginning you didn't appreciate his indifference to the Super Bowl and for some reason got offended. I LOVED the SB for obvious reasons.
