Oh that minor war when we burnt the White House ? That one you mean ? We've had so many we forget little skirmishes like that.
I use that as an example of the effectiveness of "militia" against regular forces. The other side gets a glazed over look at that point and starts talking about "gun grabbers".
Got to #3 despite the BBC refusing to play it! "Reason for ban: Factual inconsistencies Saga ballad specialist Johnny Horton followed up his biggest hit, 1959's The Battle of New Orleans, with another country-tinged historical tale featuring military drumming the following year. Sink the Bismarck from 1960 was a chart success despite the fact the committee frowned upon its historical inaccuracies, such as the claim the Second World War began in 1941 in the first line, and that the first pressing of the single spelled the name of the ship incorrectly (the sleeve carried the typo "Bismark"). After critics had panned the single, the BBC stopped playing it. Despite antipathy from the broadcaster, the song went to No.3 in the UK charts in May of that year, though Horton's luck was to be short-lived, as was his life: he was tragically killed in a car crash six months later, aged just 35." 8 songs banned by the BBC for the strangest of reasons - BBC Music
You know I thought that all the grousing about millennial's being snowflakes, easily offended and p*ssy's was so much hyperbole. I am now prepared to admit I was wrong. When I went to watch KB's video of "North to Alaska" I saw another suggested video to the side "War Toy Ads from the 50s and 60s" I clicked on it and got a warning; "The following content has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences." WTF, are they kidding? Who fuggin' elected them as thought police? Judge for yourselves: To see the warning click on the top video. war tous 50s 60s - YouTube
I had some hand me down G.I Joe's my dad played with in the 60's and 70's, there were some pretty cool toys I have to admit, like that big shot SPG.
