Why did the USSR attack Finland? Through making a pact with fascist leader. Russia has never needed a foreign reason. Putin has already manned old USSRtime period Army camps in Murnansk area. Why? Next summer Russian nuclear subs will return to the Finnish Gulf. Russian military maneuvres close to Swedish and Danish Sea areas. Russian air force over and over again Flying over Finnish territory. Why? Do you think it makes you look stronger? We think take your head out of your ass. It does not make you look stronger perhaps in Pravda it does?? .Kph .
Not a single shot fired in Crimea. I would call that peaceful. Making Nuclear weapons? So? The delivery systems are what’s trully being worked on. As for the rest? Good luck.
Most recent sources have the Soviets...Sorry, Russians, giving the deal much more thought after the recent multi-national missile strikes against Syria. Russian sources have the Israelis as being quite nervous, Israeli sources are more confident in the matter. Either way, Western ELINT will only benefit if such a deployment takes place. Russia is doing a pretty good job of marketing, or more to the point, advertising, their new big boys toys in Syria...The problem is they are not being sold to Syria. They are being sold to China, United Arab Emirates, Algeria, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Uganda, etc. Seems that the Syrians are having trouble paying their debts, and the Russians are no longer in a position to write off the Syrian debt. Still, politics is politics, and the arms flow continues into Syria, but at a reduced pace.
The discussion about shipping over S300 platforms occurred after the “multi-national” missile strike. A strike that is being called illegal. Israelis know all about the S300. They aren’t happy about it. The platform would complicate things for Israel. I have friends here in and from the IDF one who’s brother is in the Air Force. S300 in Syria (if delivered) isn’t good news. You forgot Armenia, India, Turkey, South Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, a few South American countries and even Iraq. Many more countries that have showed interest such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to name a few. As for Syria, I don’t think Russians will be selling them much. Simply giving at this point.
I can understand Putin's interest in Syria but not the gas bombs. Putin could do alot about it if not, he sure is fond of Killing children and women as that's what happened I guess you have censorship in Russia to keep the government going. Why opposition arrested we don' t have censorship or opposition arrested in Finland.
Are Russian pilots blind or why are they flying deep inside Finnish territory? Should we shoot one down as they don't show electronically their origin of country? And after that shut out out mouths that never heard or saw a thing here. WHO gives orders to the pilots. It seems to me at the moment it's Santa Claus not Putin. So far the Soviet planes have been recognized By out Hornets By Flying next to them.
An S300 deal has been talked about for some time now, recent events have moved it to the forefront. It has been on and off again since at least 2013...Why are you pretending that this is some "recent" development? You are familiar with "etc." are you not.
Putin is now fond of killing women and children? The fight in Syria is against terrorists. The crimes committed by them are far more gruesome. Gas bombs? No
US aircraft in the region fly with their transponders off as well. Putin gives about as many orders to Russian pilots as Trump to US pilots buzzing around near Kaliningrad.
He probably should have said that Putin thinks he needs a war. What he wanted was a couple of quick easy victories to shore up his position. He didn't get those. Which doesn't really respond to my point does it. Indeed and showing them to be ineffective wouldn't help at all would it?
Playing unusually dense today aren't you? Where he got them wasn't so important as getting them. Where he didn't get them were Syria and the Ukraine. Even the one he got in the Crimea may well turn out to be pyric in the long run. That he didn't even have the Russian forces in Syria try to intercept the strike. In spite of that he claimed afterwards that they had successfully intercepted quite a few missiles. You know ... as in not working or unable to prevent the strike. Kind of hurts your marketing strategy when your weapons show up as inferior. Probably a wise move on his point avoiding the test.
Quite a statement really! Russia got Crimea without a shot fired. Neglecting NATO with another base while preserving its very own and now without paying rent for it. Donbas remains free of Ukraine’s grasp and free from terror. Where is the failure here exactly? What wasn’t achieved? Syria? Really? Assad still in power. Clear victory over ISIS and other Jihadis with minimal losses. Partnering with Turkey and Iran to help end violence leaving the US out of virtually any political say in the matter. Showing off new weapons in the process Where is the failure and what wasn’t achieved here?? Russian air defense systems are there solely to protect Russians. The Syrians do not operate them. Of course the US informs the Russians of the upcoming strikes as to not endanger Russian personnel and start the unthinkable. The Russians in turn warm the Syrians who leave and come back afterwards... Ahhh politics. Mini missiles never reach their targets... I am unfamiliar with a single S300 being fired in retaliation anywhere in the world. How do you know it doesn’t work? Russia as any other country has shortcomings in her military, missiles are not one of them. I’m sure Gary Powers would agree.
1939?!? God god man it’s 2018. Stalin has been dead for quite some time Yes, I’m familiar with what happened, The Moscow Peace treaty. I remember a different Kai. You’ve changed.
They violated several treaties in doing so and the lack of violence was due the Ukranian decision not to resist. Still I'd be surprised if a shot wasn't fired somewhere along the way. NATO wasn't looking at Crimea as a base so no they didn't deny it to them. In the mean time they have been saddled with a number of economic penalties that certainly aren't helping their already depressed economy. Dunbas is hardly free from terror it fact it's probably one of the worse areas in Europe in that regard. In any case it's ultimate fate is up in the air so no victory there yet and a continues drain on Russia economically and militarily. The war is still going on so yes no victory. That's one Russia claims but did almost nothing to achieve. [qutoe] and other Jihadis with minimal losses.
The Russiand effort there has been centered around mainainting Assad in power not surppressing terrorist. Indeed their efforts have been an aid to some of the terrorist organizations in the area at least indirectly. Hardly. Indeed that seems to have been a major effort. Of course they are being careful not to test them against western systems. Wouldn't want more evidence of their inferiority to be presented on the world stage would they. Having issues with your English comprehension or just creating strawmen? I stated he needed quick victories and he hasn't achieved them either in Dunbas or in Syria. The Syrians don't have Russian air defence systems? Those never powered up for this strike. Don't think the Russians had something to do with it? Then there were the iinital claims that they had intercepted a whole bunch of the missiles. They do if they are in range just like larger ones.... Not that the US used any min missiles this time. And they announced how many they shot and post raid photos showed matching craters on target for all those launched. I am on familiar with a single S300 being fired in retaliation anywhere in the world. How do you know it doesn’t work? Russia as any other country has shortcomings in her military, missiles are not one of them. I’m sure Gary Powers would agree.
Defiantly having English comprehension problems today. I didn't say that it didn't work. The point was that the Russians don't want it being shown publicly not to work so they wisely didn't use it. It may indeed work as claimed but there seems to be a bit of apprehension in that regard from Putin and his cronies.
Russia has been able so far practically concentrate their military effort in Ukraine section or Syria. Maybe Sloniksp can show it is not that simple. At least we know the Red Army recruiting level is very low as it was suggested that Russian high School students would be recruited in numbers in the future. Something that has been a 'no-no' in Russia for ages but seems like times are changing.
1. What treaties were broken? 2. Crimea would have become a fantastic NATO base and a nightmare for Russia. 3.pretty sure I ain’t visiting Donbas anytime soon. come on now Give credit where it’s due. Russia has always been against regime change in Syria. Assad was weeks away (according to some experts) from being toppled by Jihadis. Russia came to the UN with that. It got approval from the UNSC. Went in and surprised everyone. Assad has all but won and Russia impressed quite a few (not you of course ). Is that a fact? Could you please provide some sources. Really? “My Dad can beat up your dad” debate? Sorry I’m not interested, Turkey is tho, IN THOSE S400s Ok I fold. I should have asked what your “quick” definition of victory was. Again, Putin’s only aim in Donbas was to prevent it from being crushed by Kiev. It hasn’t. No. They have old Soviet ones. The S125 the S200 (which shot down an Israeli F16 not long ago) and a few others. I think they also recently got a Buk system and a single Pantsir as a present? I may be wrong on that one. The S300s and S400s along with the new Pantsir S2 and Buk are all operated by Russian service men. They are always powered up. The S400 radar system covers half of Israel, Cyrprus and Turkey... Haha that should have been “many”. Stupid auto correct. Kaliber missile. Publicly shown. Impressed a lot people. Is Caspian Sea Fleet a Game-Changer?
