This is 3D Modelling so I guess it fits in here? Anyways, here's my high poly WIP of the SCR-300 for my Korean War mod. I know that some parts don't look exactly the same as irl but I found that a lot of them seemed to have a lot of variation and finding which variation is technically correct is a rather challenging job. https://i.imgur.com/56Ui96P.png
That's pretty good design work there! May I ask what game you are adding a Korean War mod too? People would be surprised how Similar Korea and WW2 were in terms of the combat and weaponry used. If a gamer likes a WW2 game, there is no reason they shouldn't like a Korean war game.
Thanks! The mod is planned for Squad which is kinda like Battlefield but it has a huge focus on teamwork, coordination, and realism. Yes! I'm actually counting on that similarity. Even though no one has really ever played a game in this era people will still be pretty comfortable in it because of how close it is to WW2.
Squad is a great game! I don't own it, but I've played it many times with other friends of mine, that is a great platform to do this. It would be great to see the Franchise Red Orchestra, or Rising storm do a Korean war game, they have Stalingrad, Pacific, and late Vietnam already.
Ah great! So you know the mod would basically play. Yeah Red Orchestra games are really good, I'd really like to see any Korean War games, its a massively under represented conflict.
It is definitely not talked about enough, it would be amazing to even see a mainstream movie about the war.
I'd love to see a mainstream movie about, maybe some type of episodic Band of Brothers type thing covering the war. It'd be super awesome!
I have seen a movie made by the South Koreans on the war, for the life of me I can't remember the name, I had to use subtitles, but it was actually quite good, and was an impressive film nonetheless. It was cool to see the South Korean perspective on the conflict.
That sounds good. If you remember the name please send it my way, I'd love to watch it! I found a Chinese film on it a while ago. It was weird watching it because it looked just like a western war movie except the US was bad and for some reason really liked human wave attacks.
Well it's no surprise the Chinese make the Americans "bad", and that's funny they show the US doing human waves when that's exactly what the Chinese did frequently, only they didn't have shoes or guns sometimes.........Taegukgi is the name of the movie, it was made in 2004, but it's a good emotional film with some good special effects and authentic weaponry. I happened upon another movie I'll have to see titled, The Front Line, made in 2011.
Lol yeah, it was an interesting watch. Not really worth the time to watch again though. Thanks for the name! I'm gonna find and watch both of them.
Well there was The Bridges at Toko Ri The Bridges at Toko-Ri - Wikipedia Pork Chop Hill Pork Chop Hill - Wikipedia and of course Mash (the movie not the Alda vehicle that was essentially Vietnam in a different time and place).
Those are all great movies, I've never been a real MASH fan, I was really talking more about a new movie like Dunkirk or Hacksaw Ridge.
I liked the original movie (MASH) didn't like what Alda did to the TV series i.e. made it a vehicle for his political philosophy and got really sloppy with some of the effects. I seem to recall another Korean movie I watched when I was growing up. I don't think there have been any made here in the last 3 or 4 decades though.
While I liked the movie overall, and it was high time Desmond Doss' story was told (met him once years ago, he used to live in Rising fawn, GA near here). I though the combat scenes were poorly done and too Hollywoodish.
