I got the DVD for my Dad for Father's Day, and watched it first. I think it's good. Great to show us the Cabinet War Rooms. (Got to visit them in '88, by the way.) For those who have seen it, do you know what the papers were everyone was waving in the final scene?
I've been told that was a signal of approval. However, "...two countries separated by a common language..." might apply.
Good 'ol wikipedia says this: Order Paper - Wikipedia I found references in other sites. Apparently clapping is not allowed, so they do that foolishness. Great flick, BTW 10/10, will watch again.
I went to see it when it hit the theaters with a buddy. Made the day of it, went to the barber shop, grabbed some lunch, the caught the matinee. Great flick. Nice day. The extra large sodi pop and big box of Milk Duds cost more than the ticket to get in though. I was able to follow most of it, but the English they speak over there is a bit difficult to follow sometimes. So I got it on Netflix, and watched it with the English subtitles on. Talk about a difference! Try it like that and you'll get more out of it.
I got 95% of it in the theaters, but some of the audio in the House of Commons was a bit too blurred for me. On our common birthday, 7th June, Boss Lady is giving me "The Gathering Storm" and "Into the Storm", much overlap expected. And subtitles will be on.
My Boss Lady’s Birthday is tomorrow. We are three years and three days apart, birthday wise. We just go back from our combined Birthday/ Memorial days cookout at my inlaws. My inlaws got me the “Darkest Hour”on blue ray. Missed it in the theaters, but now I can take bathroom breaks while watching.
One of the things that freaked me out was that Gary Oldman didn't put on a pound for the role. This is almost CGI-level makeup.
