Hi, I'm a Nazi militaria collector and also make flag reproductions as a hobby. It's hard to get your product noticed because of e-bays and youtubes ban on Nazi militaria. I hate censorship.

I agree with Otto. You need to do something about your avatar. It kind of sticks in my craw. I hope you're not a Nazi apologist.

No LRusso216, I'm not. I can however separate the politics from the militaria and the Nazis had the coolest stuff. Collectors want the German militaria items over the Allied by a large amount. Due to the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied forces of WW2 we enjoy the freedom to collect any military items we want do we not? Have a good one.

While you certainly have a right to use a Nazi swastika as your avatar, I consider it distasteful due to its association with one of the most hateful regimes in modern history. However I will - for the time being - take your statement that you delineate between the unjustifiable hateful ideology of the Nazi party, its members, and associates and collecting for non-ideological reasons.

    Enjoy the forums.

I came to this site because it said WW2 forums, not allied forces only forums. I've commented on someone's uncertainty of an SS dagger. Lighten up.

That's not what it is about. Many people on here (myself included) collect artifacts from the time period. Some contain symbols such as the swastika. However, it's the display and, IMO, the reproduction of Nazi memorabilia that concerns me. Who buys repro Nazi loot? I can think of only a few groups of people.

Over the years there have been a few people who showed up displaying swastikas and saying they "hate censorship". This behavior tends to be associates with people of a certain ilk. Only time will tell if you are a "follow your leader" type.

There is a place for reproductions because of the cost of some originals. My avatar is the Reich chancellery tapestry repro that I make, an original is $10,000.00 Not many collectors can afford that, myself included so its the next best thing. I have originals and reproductions. Do you guys ever go to Lakeside Trader, Collectors Guild or Tom Wittmanns site WWiidaggers? That's where I buy originals. Does anyone have a display for their militaria items?

My wife had a cousin in the SS. My dad went out at night to kill nazis where he found them then was an interpreter at Buchenwald. He told me that he saw the lampshades made from human skin. In my opinion, your wares occupy the same status as child sized leather sex clothing.

It's your choice of avatar which many of us find hard to take, It has nothing to do with your hobby. You are welcome to share your expertise on the authenticity of items. Many others have done so without the distasteful avatar.
