Was just looking at one of the relic threads and realized I haven't seen any of his posts in a quite a while. Then checked and it's been months since he's posted. Anyone have any news about him? Hope he's ok.

I was looking at the Adrian helmet that Skipper sent to me a few years ago and it got me wondered how he was doing.

Think I'll send him an email to ask how he's doing

He post occasionally on Facebook. Usually it's in French so I can't understand it. Maybe he's just taking a break. Although, it sure would be nice if he came back.

Urqh posts frequently on Facebook. His quirkiness shows up there, as well.

Try Googletranslate, it's great. Had an entire course of correspondence with a French genealogist a few years aback who complimented me on my "excellent" French. Didn't have the heart to tell him.

I've done that. He keeps saying he'll return, but so far he hasn't.

What is urgh's name on Facebook ??? urgh ? :) If so I cannot find it. A music group of the same name dominates the word.

What does his profile pic look like, given there seem to be several million of 'em on FB?

Stepping back from online activity occasionally is a reality for most people. The good news is this site will be here when/if they decide to return, even if it's for a post or two.

Having just taken a 'break' myself, the first thing I noticed was that Skipper seems to have submerged - I do hope that this is purely temporary...I know that no-one is indispensable and all that, but he comes close IMO.
