Thanks Nathan, Im studying them now to come up with a timeline. I would love to make a map of his movements in Europe.

According to General Orders 2, HQ, 645th Tank Destroyer Battalion, dated 13 July 1944,
T/5 Phillip E. Wilt, ASN 15076543, was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.

    Wilt belonged to B Company.

Wilt as a PFC is also listed in the 29 June 1945 roster of the 45th Infantry Division
as B Company, 645th. The 645th was the organic TD Bn assigned to the 45th
    for most of the war.

Thus, it is likely he was transferred to the 25th Tank Bn after 29 June.

    No link.

    I have the files.

I found and copied General Orders One and Two at the NARA II, College Park, Maryland, in June 2010.

They are the only General Orders I found in the folder. G.O. One also awards the GCM to many members
    of the 645th.

I also have the 1945 roster of the 45th ID.

By the way, here is the Facebook Group I created for the 645th:

They sound like something that Hyperwar would host. You might contact Otto or Opana about it if you are willing to send them the files.

Finally got back paperwork from the archives, everything was burnt in the fire. The documents I have are the best I'm going to get and after learning a lot from you guys is pretty much all I needed. Now its time to apply for my other grandfather that was in the Korean War. I don' have anything on him so I'm praying the fire didn't get his papers too.
