    yes , I found info on Jackie Looper was navy muster on ship LST646 , this is one of the boats at Iwo Jima at one time

    There is lots of great info here, and some great members also, but take a look at our sister site WW2Talk.com. It's a lot more Commonwealth centric which might suit your request a bit better.

    Thank you so very much and your suggestion to check out this other site. I am finally getting to your email after a very hectic Christmas season! I also have the email contact info for Dutch military records that my cousin in Amsterdam sent me. I am so excited that we may find something about our dad’s WWII service. We don’t have any paperwork whatsoever from the Dutch government; we aren’t sure if it was in a box stolen during one of our parent’s moves. They lost a third of their things when the commercial moving van their things were in during an overnight stop was broken into. Sorry, I got side tracked. Again, thank you!!!
