Cool! I was going to say, might be a bit of work if you have to do it manually!

Only "manually" this first time, as we were on the old Invision Power Board when we opened up for Patrons. Future accounts will automatically upgrade with donations.

Cheers Lou, I didn't get a chance to message you about the Patron status yet. I'll be rolling out all Patron accounts in the next few days.

All Patron profiles have now been assigned. I'll be sending a note via PM to you all with a description of perks.

    I'm humbled, thank you all.

Still say it was some of the best money I ever spent.

    It's sincerely appreciated.

As far as we've come, there is still a lot of goodness in queue.
-we will move to a newer version of our software (XenForo 2.0), before years end. The new version upgrade will be fairly simple and provide a host of new features useful to administration of the site.
-there are two more forum databases primed for import during the upgrade. This encompasses some 250,000 new posts, some of them with cracking content. I'm keeping the details close to the vest for now, but we'll have over a million posts here come 2018.
-the current compressed structure of the site makes things incredibly hard to find upon your first visit. The subforums are going to be expanded, with a lot more clarity for where to post what.
-as a follow up to the above point, ingestion of the imported forums hasn't started yet. I've dropped them into their own sections for now (tanks in ww2, & war44), but these will eventually get distributed into existing WW2F forums and subforums
-the very complex database cleanup is still incomplete, resulting in reduced load times. Once up implemented we will be on par with WW2Talk.com site speeds
-the Safe Harbor effort will expand, with a formalized process and an effort to get out the word. We've lost far too many WWII sites with great research over the years!
-a wider content spectrum, including photo and video
-further development of WW2.ORG, a repository for WWII info. Forums are great for communication, but the data stored there is by its nature a bit messy and unstructured. This site will have high standards for content entry and be structured
-this does not even go into the other half dozen projects that will find their home here on the Forums: a Geneological Research guide, a Google Earth WWII map, the Preserved Military Vehicle Registry Project, and a few others

So, thanks to you Patrons there is a lot of goodness still to come. Grammercy!

Wow. You have a lot to do. I enjoy looking at the posts every day. Thanks for your efforts. I have been around for almost nine years, and the improvements are astounding. I can't wait to see what's next.

Agree. I like to strut around the apartment wearing only my patron star, barking orders to an empty room.

I always feel a bit odd when it comes to things financial. Its needed, but it doesn't come natural for me.

I'll post info on this for you once I've tucked the little guys into bed.

    @Buten42

I've updated the first page in this thread, it now contains live links for Patron status and Open Donations. In addition, I've recreated the WW2F Patron Page which contains the same info on a dedicated page.

Your post got me going on this, so thank you. I had no idea how broken the opening post was, I'm happy to have it repaired.

Thanks for the Patron link Otto--much easier. Pay Pay said they would ship to my place, so I may get a WWII Forums delivered to my door for a bargain price :)
Actually, the Forums is a tremendous bargain. Where can one get access to such a huge collection of knowledge, humor, art, wit, and of course our international treasure, Poppy who always brightens my day.
