    Yes, this was on the Petrel/CBS Twitter feed yesterday, but they were holding off making the announcement that the wreck had been found.

    Just watched the CBS story and they had a former crewman commenting live. His station was aft on a (I assume) a 5" 38 mount. The actual location is being kept a secret so "treasure" hunters won't loot her.

    17,000 feet down will keep all but those with very very deep pockets away. I can only imagine what it cost Allen's team, and that does not include any salvage work.

    An interesting discussion over on j-aircraft as well. Sounds like she's in very good condition all factors considered. Pretty deep in the mud though.

    What gets me in coverage of this, is a ten man team doing the search.
    With the right gear, astonishing what can be done by a few people.
    Mr Allen's money carrying on after he's gone, hopefully doing interesting work for years.
