I didn't want to have to do this, but OP has left me no choice..... Stir-fired Spam with peanut sauce: The Spam is cubed and stir-fried in the usual manner, I add some chili flakes to the pan to help season the Spam and give it a little 'kick'. The sauce is the key to making this incredibly delicious dish. Combine equal parts soy sauce, warm water, and peanut butter. Blend well. Add a crushed clove of garlic, a squeeze of lime juice, a pinch of cayenne pepper, a couple grinds of black pepper, a dash or two of fish sauce, a bit of brown sugar, and a few drops of toasted sesame oil. In this case I had some Vietnamese sweet chili sauce on hand, so I used that instead of the brown sugar. Blend really well. The sauce should be thick but still pour easily. Adjust seasoning if needed. Make a light salad, in this case shredded carrot, sliced serrano chile, and sliced scallion. Dress with lime juice or rice vinegar. Toss salad and Spam together, then dress with the sauce. Enjoy your new found love of Spam!
Something like that could set off a new Tet offensive if Hanoi hears about it! Actually, sounds pretty good. Many Asian recipes use that sweet and sour, or sweet and spicy, or sweet and salt to hit on all cylinders in the taste buds. I tried some Teriyaki Spam a while back, just fried like bacon. It was pretty good. .
I may be going out on a limb here, but I have a theory...... If Beef Wellington... ...was named in honor of the Duke of Wellington after his victory at Waterloo... ...then I believe that Spam Wellington... might well have been named in honor of the Vickers Wellington, both were great contributors to the allied war effort! (And after a big dinner of Spam Wellington, you're sure to drop a heavy load at night. )
I'm watching the site today, as was Slipdigit who killed our most recent spammer. I'm continuing to do some cleanup while we wait for a software upgrade which will solve much of this spam problem.
You people do the best you can, and I completely understand. And I know nothing about moderation of a forum. This is still a great site.
Tell Slip if he needs help disposing of the body I know a guy that has pigs and asks no questions. Never disposed of a spammer before and there are some things pigs won't eat.
