Hmmmm? Just happen to have a few bottles of Maple syrup left from last year's batch. Now to check the cabinet to see what I've got to go with it.

This might have been sacrilegious but figured I couldn't hurt old Jack Daniels much. Sorry no picture but: four small ice cubes, teaspoon of Biak's Own Maple syrup and a tad over two fingers Jack Daniels Old Number 7. No bitters so have to go hillbilly. Actually it's rather smooth. Silky on the tongue and taste hangs on a bit.

I live in Missouri and the cousins brew south of I-44. The thing about moonshine is that it's the white liquor all whiskeys start with, it's just a bit raw. One year at our Christmas brawl somebody pours the white lightning into all the ashtrays. Shortly they were all burning with a eldritch blue flame.

Well I've decided Maple syrup and Jack Daniels needs a cup of tea ☕ to really blend the flavors.
Trusn't bad but messes with yore spellen.

McCormick makes a straight Corn Likker in a stoneware jug under the name "Platte Valley Corn Whiskey." It's only 80 proof where I suspect old timey corn likker would have been north of 100 proof. I bought a jug a year or two back just to see what our ancestors drank. Bonded corn liquor back in the day was made of straight corn without sugar added, which is what differs it from moonshine. At any rate, in the 19th century if you bellied up to the bar and asked for a whiskey, that is what you got from New York to Yuma. Only fancy boys asked for rye or bourbon. Corn whiskey is pale yellow and has a rather mild taste. I can see myself throwing down a dozen of these in Dodge City and then shooting the piano player.

I've had that. Gave a jug to P. Z. Meyers when he was in Springfield for Skepticon III.

I picked up the Woodford Reserve and a small bottle of Makers Mark to start the Bourbon experience. Also grabbed some old fashion aromatic bitters.

Oh yeah just to top it all off also picked up a Ruger Security 9 with a Viridian laser sight. I do plan keeping the Bourbon and Ruger separated.

Yeah, we had eye appointments so made a day of it. Still blurry from having my eyes dilated. Stopped in at an outdoor store to kill some time and somehow found myself standing by the pistol counter. Finally found the Bersa Thunder I had been considering but decided against it. Didn't like the grip\feel\size so put it back and left to find the better half. Innocently mentioned I had been looking at a 9mm Ruger so I could retire the Mauser. She suggested I get the Ruger ! Knocked over a couple slow moving shoppers getting back to the counter. Very understanding wife !

Definitely The Famous Grouse whisky, though also partial to an Irish whiskey called Irish Mist.

The story goes the Irish invented Whiskey and brought it to Scotland Gordon...im sure the Scots have a different view...Both cultures are piss heads...(which is why Australians are piss heads too).

It's Celtic genetics. I like both kinds; aviation fuel and rocket fuel.
