    My trip to the store went well yesterday, pretty much normal crowd, though some seemed to be out of towner's.
    No paper products, eggs, cleaners or bread, but plenty of tortilla's and enough of every thing else.

    Just returned from town and finished our decontamination procedures. Washed hands and poured a short glass of Woodford Reserve (without the vermouth since it was passed it's "Best By" date). Thanks Rich :s!: Oh well in Times of turmoil you do what you have to do.
    Town is a relative term as in this case the 'town' is 456 people spread out over several square miles. The 21 bed hospital is on lock down and the pharmacy has instituted a curb-side pickup. Stocked up on the essentials - chips, ice cream, donuts, cheese curds and Pepsi. It was rather busy today but we were careful to keep a safe distance from the 3 other folks wandering the aisles. Believe it or not there was actually toilet paper on the shelve - albeit only four or five packages. Being the considerate Boomers we are we left it for those more in need of the desperately needed commodity.
    Now to hunker down.

    I live a short walk from a small brewery. It is a favorite watering hole and neighborhood gathering spot. They aren't allowed to serve to in-house patrons at the moment; however, I was able to get a growler (jug) of beer to go. Panic over.

    (I got the ESB: malty, not overly hoppy, a little sweet.)

    Rode my bike to the little country store a mile away. A new sign said "Window Service Only". I know the owner and the kid manning the window. He told me the owner went home feeling sick. I told him to lock the door and carry on as best as he could. Hope she only has a cold.

    I made sure to wash my hands when I got home.

    The PM has called horders "Drongos" (Australian word) and to "Stop it"... "Stop doing it. It’s ridiculous. It’s un-Australian, and it must stop"

    People especially hording perishable goods are drongos...if they don't eat it all it will spoil and then its a waste.

    Hope everybody stays well during this pandemic as they call it now..I am right in the battle zone of NW Washington State myself but been couped up inside for the last two months now nursing a broken ankle and a leg (long story)..so watching war movies or on the computer, while the wife works and does the shopping...stay safe comrades.

    Kids these days don't know how good they have it.
    Not to gloat or anything but the first 6 years of my life I really and truly had to walk outside to use the 'facilities'. We had indoor plumping but only running water for the kitchen sink. Grandpa, Dad and Dad's brother built a log cabin 20 feet by 24 feet with a side room for a bedroom of about 14x16. The outhouse set around 20 yards from the house and Winter time wasn't enjoyable. I didn't have to resort to the above, we did have toilet paper, but newspapers were always stacked beside the two-holer in the back yard as backup just in case. Oh the other hand Grandpa and Grandma who lived just down the way did have an indoor bathroom but also a 'second' bathroom outside for general use. I'm sure it was just Grandpa's since of humor but he Did have a coffee can of corncobs hanging on the wall within easy reach.

    I despair at how little time my weans spent outside in comparison to myself and my peers. Even now, my daughters are only ever outside when they're riding their ponies.

    I hear you Gordon. Our grandsons feel like they're being abused when they have to turn off their "electronics" and find something else to do. Funny thing is once outside they have a great time. Over Christmas they were here and between sledding, riding/driving the Ski-Doo, Ice-fishing and walking on the lake they forgot there was an Internet. If only for a little while.

    Our presidents son in law serves as his chief adviser. His brother owns a company that tests for the virus.

    Initial trial results on the drug combination I mentioned earlier seem not to be proving out:

    "The trial by the Chinese researchers, published yesterday in the New England Journal of Medicine, included 199 patients with confirmed COVID-19 infections, 99 in the treatment group and 100 who received standard care. They saw no difference in clinical improvement between the groups, and mortality at 28 days was similar for both. Gastrointestinal symptoms were more common in the treatment group, in whom treatment was stopped early for 13 due to adverse events."

    I am getting more than the normal amount of Trump emails in my inbox. 7 today. 2 from the WH. Another offering me a signed red hat. Last week I got an email inviting me a chance to have dinner with Malenia.

    From Ground Zero on the front

    Rumor that the shopkeeper was sick were wrong. She was just over worked. Fisbee golf course was filled with Gen Xers.

    I talked to a friend here today who said he woke feeling it was hard to breathe. Said he'd take the day off and work tomorrow. Traffic in town is 20% of normal but aggressive driving/speeding in town seems to be increasing.

    I drove over to the golf course and it was packed. They said business was 2X normal.
