Made me some Irish-American-Vietnamese inspired stew last night. Came out pretty good. Real easy to make so if any of you people want to give it a try go ahead. Ingredients: olive oil corned beef, a pound or so bok choy (half a bunch) 1 can of beef broth spice mix (chopped onion, green/red/yellow bell pepper, celery) 5-6 small Yukon gold potatoes 4-5 garlic cloves 1 small can of Spicy V-8 juice handful of green onion 1 cup of orzo 3 cayenne peppers, sliced season to taste How it's done: cover the bottom of the pot w/olive oil cube and brown the corned beef add spice mix and garlic (pressed), cook down until translucent add beef broth, peppers (chopped), seasonings cube and add potatoes, cook until they are soft enough to run a fork through them add V-8, and orzo chop and add bok choy, green onions stir until bok choy is softened You can add more beef broth or water if you prefer a more soupy finished product. I like it hot, so feel free to back down on the heat (cayennes and Spicy Hot V-8). A small can of tomato sauce will do in place of the V-8. Or substitute with a can of mild Rotel tomatoes. Eat. I thought about putting this in the bachelor recipe thread, but there were too many ingredients and steps involved to qualify for inclusion there.
Looks tasty! With the Trinity and Pope in the pot, and cayenne peppers in the mix, sounds like it could be an Irish-Cajun-Vietnamese stew. Any fish sauce in that? Currently, my favorite fish sauce is Red Boat from Vietnam.
No, no fish sauce, but feel free to add some if you think it is needed. It's pretty hot and spicy as is, but that Red Boat stuff might work well.
It will clean out your sinuses and make sure all your tubes are hooked up just right. You should give it a try, just de-escalate the peppery items a bit. Like I suggested, use a small can of tomato sauce instead of Spicy Hot V8 juice or Rotel Tomatoes, go without the cayennes, and go easy on the seasoning to taste bit. Ok use just one cayenne.
While shopping the other day I found a can of Spam Hickory Smoke flavor and now wish I had picked up more than just one can. The ingredients list made me pause. Pork and Ham, okay so far, Mechanically separated Chicken, ........ What ? Going against my better judgement cast caution aside and dropped it in the cart. Once again my "better judgement' showed I was overthinking a bit. This SHS (SpamHickorySmoke) is Good! Cut two thin slices, about 3/8" thick, browned both sides then broke into pieces and mixed into scrabbled eggs. This is much better than the usual sausage egg conglomeration I have when a quick meal is in order.
Hey Millennial's ! Go ahead and blame us Baby Boomers. For full effect go to your local potshop (it was illegal way back in the olden days) get wasted, leave the volume down a bit and chill. You're Welcome.
I didn't get the full-on 2020 Census. I got a self-described "invitation" to the Census. I thought that was an interesting choice of words considering it also said I was required to participate under Federal Law! I think I may try that technique the next time I send out party invites. Maybe that will get someone to show up.
Same here. A ambiguous two or three question survey is a waste of postage. Now if they did the same thing with the IRS 1040 I could understand.
I got a letter in the mail from the census bureau for somebody named "Resident" so I wrote "return to sender, nobody here by that name" and sent it back. .
Sitting here in my stupor and had to sign in just to like your post. Anything that causes me to snort "pepsi" out my nose deserves acknowledgement.
I love how the guitarist try to pull the drummer out of his fugue with a few riffs now and then. He said he finally just got tired, having never heard them.
I can't win for losing; Got a fresh bottle of sweet vermouth and NOW the Makers Mark is getting low !
I seriously considered putting down "Mandalorian on tourist visa" but got 'that look' from the wife. So just left it blank.
Well just found out the NYC heath department issued a directive for precautions on contacting the corona virus. Going by their recommendations I'm going to live forever !
