"Smoke billows up from the Kowloon Docks and railroad yards after a surprise bombing attack on Hong Kong harbor by the U.S. Army 14th Air Force October 16, 1944. A Japanese fighter plane (left center) turns in a climb to attack the bombers. Between the Royal Navy yard, left, enemy vessels spout flames, and just outside the boat basin, foreground, another ship has been hit." Star Ferry a-shitin' and a-gettin'.
9 out of 10 American GIs never saw the enemy. They kept the beans, bullets, and black oil coming for the line doggies. "U.S. invasion forces establish a beachhead on Okinawa island, about 350 miles from the Japanese mainland, on April 13. 1945. Pouring out war supplies and military equipment, the landing crafts fill the sea to the horizon, in the distance, battleships of the U.S. fleet."
This has got to be one of the most iconic pictures I've ever seen of WW2. And I'm pretty sure I've seen several thousand.

Ice Hockey: 2021 World Junior championship quarter final Finland-Sweden. We were losing 2-0 to Sweden and then we came back and scored the winning goal 3-2 just 30 seconds before the end. Our beloved "enemy" Sweden usually does this to us. Our turn.... Sorry guys....
Bet you never guessed. My father was 0 38 cal Finnish champion and my mother 0.22 cal Finnish champion. I shot both guns between ages 12-17 years several days a week but was not good enough so concentrated on other things.
The best gun I have used so far was in the Army 12.7 mm Russian AA MG down the beach. Lovely gun. Kph We called it Sergei but internationally the name don' t fit.
