The parts that aren't on fire, certainly. I loved going across that lake from Fremantle to Perth. Awesome view.

Of course, for us overly caffeinated Americans, it's...

    The real deal...
    [IMG][IMG]

"The Tasmanian devil has the most powerful bite relative to body size of any living mammalian carnivore"
You can hear them at night (in Tasmania) screaming at each other as they fight over a dead animal...very loud and scary sounding...They eat the dead animal completely...crushing bone along with the flesh. I've managed to pat one...quickly.
I have heard Americans comment on the Australian view of work...those who have come over here to work. They cannot believe how relaxed the work place is, a lack of pressure to make the dollar and look good at work. Again, Australia's egalitarian approach to life sure is seen in the work place.

For years there has been an argument cats or dogs? To me there is no comparison...it's like saying "Shopping trolley or Porche?" Dogs are easily the most useful animal man has found and its no surprise that foot prints of both man and dog side by side have been found as long ago as 70 000 years! So I thought a little tribute is in order (so long as its a good photo) try this one:

Part of the last proudction order of Hurricanes in 1944, this Hurricane ended up with the Smithsonian after the RAF Museum traded it for the last remainig Hawker Typhoon at that time, which had gone to the USA in WWII for flight tests"

"KV-1 Soviet Heavy Tank in Dvorstsovaya Square, Saint-Petersburg. One of the few alive defenders of Leningrad. Produced in September of 1941. Fought in defensive battles, and fell through the ice of Neva river in february of 1942. Pulled from bottom in 2011 and now it's only original running KV-1."

"“We were fighting the elements. The snow was deep, the wind was very high, we could barely see or hear. We were so numb and tired that we couldn't hit the ground when the artillery fire fell beside us.” Thomas W. Gilgore, 121st Infantry, shows the strain of his time in the Hürtgen Forest.

"Lockheed P-38J-10-LO Lightning 42-67762 at the National Air and Space Museum. While this aircraft was never flown in combat, it was once flown in a test flight by Richard Bong, America's highest scoring ace with 40 kills. This is also probably the most original P-38 left in existence."
