Loses context - without your post. But I am referring to Captain Tom's assurance things will get better. He's the 99 year out British fella who raised funds by walking in his garden.
I'm glad you posted that...not only true, but someone like Captain Tom knows this better than most...I would say the same to the US...this could be the beginning of the end or a new start for your great country...You never know what you have until you lose it...
I've been to Broome...not Smirnov beach though...I would think twice about digging for diamonds though, might find some remains instead... This is Broome...A Boab tree native to Western Australia only...it got this tree when WA was connected to Africa...a few years ago : ) This is a young Boab... The old ones become very big...here an ancient Boab was used as an overnight prison, bringing in people from the bush to the courts in Broome...
For the spider lovers out there..."Sydney mum finds visitors in her daughter's room" A Huntsman hoe down! Yeeeha! "Put your 5th leg in, put your 5th leg out and shake it all about..."
I have heard about spiders in Australia, how does one ever cope? I can’t even stand a house spider! My wife’s best friend has a daughter that lives there. Her mother visited there and found a large spider in her bed. You couldn’t pay me enough. And nothing against the beauty of your country either. I hate them!
Yeah plenty of people do freak out...but we know that it's a learned reaction...(you saw your Mother or sister freak out when you were young or saw a freak out on television) - I see spiders as happy creatures, their default is happy...very unlikely to bite you if you treat them gently - it's when people sloppily try to catch them do they quite naturally arc up and go into survival mode (like you and I would) - so you just treat them gently and they will be happy to make friends. Spiders play a crucial role in our eco system...keeping all manner of insect numbers down...we would quite literally be over run by insects if it wasn't for them. My favourite spiders are jumping spiders...Sooooo cute...Heres a fav of mine a species of peacock jumping spider in Australia... Jumping spiders are the best! Huntsman actually make good pets, they are quite mellow...
This sucker however, is to be avoided...the white tailed spider...the only spider I don't like. Most bites are not too bad...but in some cases the wound won't heal but gets bigger and bigger, resistant to treatment... And of course the deadliest is the Funnel Web spider...likes to swim in people's pool looking for mates... This little critter will kill you dead...pinished.
Vets get a lot of dogs bitten by snakes...usually in the backside because interestingly, dog’s reflexes are too fast for a snake to bite it in the face...usually...there are stupid dogs too. : ) Most vets/hospitals carry antivenins for most things deadly, so a good percentage of dogs are saved.
