Sorry a Bush joke went very bad.

Actually when the Nordic countries got potatoes it was the first time people were not hungry anymore. So we still eat potatoes not tomatoes.

Hovever Bush younger said that the US had very good relations with Japan for over 100 years. Who counts a couple of nukes between friends?

The Japanese did not rrip their shirts off so in a way they silently accepted the sentence which was , to be honest, weird. At least I do.

The interior minister of Estonia called our new PM a shop keeper. Now she is the favourite for being the new president. The Estonian minister said sorry in papers and just recently resigned after a couple of months of being in paper headlines for what he had said.

They always talk about Mediterranean food and its good effects. However drinking a bottle of wine almost every might does not go without problems. We might have 40% wine and its effects during the weekends but the French have top numbers for pancreas inflmmation. Do it and the devil catches you, do the other way and the devil catches yoy, too.

Later on some source facts from books. No pics or other stuff. Pure military facts.

How 'bout this: roads and traffic in places the Romans built are a lot worse today.

I'm not surprised...too young in my opinion...Young people see things in black and white and don't appreciate the grey complexities...i'm generalising of course...
Plus many countries would have a problem dealing with a young woman as a leader...their problem of course, but in diplomacy it becomes everyone's problem. Not a fan of the idea...

Yes, the older people make better choices. To be honest we are just not told about these things...

    ----------------------------

The NEW AND BIGGER airfield in Madrid

Ciudad real or Ghost airport was built in 2008 with the private cost of 1.1 million euro, It was opened in 2009.

The ghost airport was built to serve Madrid and Andalusian coast, both are accessible by train in 50 minutes.

Nowadays the airport is used as an advertising spot and film locations. The real thing is analysis required for usage of the airport for a purpose, in precedent, many of international organizations expressed their interest in the airport for buying including the US army.

The Astonishing Abandoned Airports In Spain - RFAE.org

    -----------------

    The newly opened Berlin airfield

Construction of Brandenburg Airport was a disaster
Some people may be wondering “why is it so surprising that the airport actually opened?” Well, I can’t think of another airport in the world that has had as disastrous of a construction process as this new airport:

    • Construction on the airport started back in 2006
    • The airport was initially supposed to open in March 2011, but ended up opening in October 2020, so it was nearly 10 years behind schedule
    • The airport was supposed to cost €2.83 billion, but has cost around €7 billion in the end

Or the famous Berlin Main train station ( only one toilet ). So you do not spend too much time there.....

What I don’t like about Berlin Hauptbahnhof is that there is only one toilet facility (costs one euro).

Just a couple of examples where the money is gone down the drain.....and they were meant to totally change things.I cannot believe the Germans would build a main Berlin train station with ONE toilet.

I loved Ronald as a teenager. He was massive as a performer.

Medical Mystery: Did Reagan have Alzheimer's while president?
by Allan B. Schwartz, M.D., For The Inquirer, Posted: August 13, 2016

At age 70, Ronald Reagan was the oldest person ever to be inaugurated U.S. president.

Known as the Great Communicator, he had a sense of humor that was legendary, and sometimes targeted on his own age.

He is quoted to have said: "I have left orders to be awakened at any time in case of national emergency, even if I am in a Cabinet meeting."

Another time, he said, "To show you how youthful I am, I intend to campaign in all 13 states."

But some incidents weren't so funny. At a 1984 photo session at the president's Santa Barbara ranch, a reporter called out a question about arms control. Reagan answered: "Well, we uh, well . . . I guess, uh, well, we uh . . ." His wife, Nancy, came to rescue, prompting him with a quiet, "We're doing the best we can."

But, on the other hand, she is easy on the eyes. A lot more than that Teutonic dame she is standing next to.

She did not just " jump in the game". She has been into politics since a teenager and now as 30+ it makes 20 years at least. We have had much worse men PM`s 60+ aged.

Australia's only female Prime Minister: Julia Gillard

    And a ranga! (red head)
Born in Wales - she has the broadest Australian accent you will hear (work that out)
She was born in 61 (ten years older than me) - Was a hard core lawyer before moving into politics full time. NOT a woman to trifle with...she can cut a man in two with her tongue.

It is a bit odd but on country level Finland seems to have more than just political handshakes with Hungary and Australia.
I love the "mate" term and perhaps it is all due to the Paul Hogan show we had on television ca 1982-1985 weekly. Just like Kenny Everet show. The latter being from the UK. My history lession...

The word ‘mate’ is English (not British)...Poms still say the word in certain areas...But in Australia it’s said everywhere...
