Hmmmmm, starting to get a little perturbed, gone through most of my stuff and still haven't found my C47 with the stencil and a couple of other kits I'm looking for. But I know that they are hiding somewhere in the room.

Was surfing the net for new stuff found my way to hobby search Japan and found a bunch of kits I've been looking for and a bunch I had never seen before. I'm dying to buy something new. But already told myself I have to wait after summer and have to finish some of my projects.

I was at a friends in helmet California and watching TV there was a channel devoted to native Americans. I was surprised to learn that Indians were not citizens till after WWI when tens of thousands joined the army to fight in Europe. And didn't get federal rights to vote till well after WWII. Also learned that the FBI has legal jurisdiction over Federal Indian reservations and are so short handed that many murder assault and abuse cases take years to investigate or sometime never. Sad to think the government does not care enough about justice on the reservations. Viejas casino tribal elders told the tribe car thieft and other activities had to stop or they would suspend the stipend payments. The homes on the reservation look as good as home's in the upper parts of San Diego. Land the government gave them because no one wanted it now asshole developers want to take it.

Good that you have more kits to build and more to search for. I really don’t have much, if any more room to display any, and the wife has been more than generous by giving up her spaces, even in the living room. I like everything I have now and don’t want to trash any. I suppose I still have some patience and dexterity to build a couple more some day. To tell the truth I was looking at those waterline destroyer models by Tamiya. But they look so small and once again would probably take tweezers and toothpicks like the Fletcher model. Probably wouldn’t take up much space but I wonder how they look without the artificial ocean water block or whatever they sit on to look like they are sailing in the sea? Does that come with these waterline models or is that something you have to buy premade or do people make them themselves with the blue artificial water?

Talking about developers I think most are crooks. San onorfre is prime beach real estate. Part of camp Pendleton. Developers wanted the marines to turn over the land for public development and the marines said screw you. So these idiots get a state judge to declare that the marines have to turn over the land to state developers, the marines still said screw you later the papers were saying the state judge had no right or power to make such a declaration since the land was federal land and under Federal jurisdiction. Even I knew that and I was just starting Jr college. Taught us in high school States vs Federal.

Depending on how you want to display a glass shelf looks good or mirror shelf if your doing large scale I would go with the high accent shelving or shelving cases books and boxed kits on the lows and highs and finished models on the mids. If you have a decent size backyard you could build the man cave with a high loft and build display cases in the loft. I've built stuff like tough sheds but we bought ours my dad when he was still alive wanted to buy it rather than build our own saying it might take too long. Cost 2500, I think I could have built it for way under a thousand

I can see, well in focus anyway. Lost my glasses weeks ago like maybe eight to ten weeks. Thought I had dropped them in one of my models boxes but couldn't find them. Was going thru some of my storage boxes looking for certain kits and tada. Had no ides it was ever in that box. Now I can see farther and in focus. Found my old aero club Neptune v7. Really crude simplicit want to etch out some details rework the cockpit etc.

Stalin hunted and killed church people and destroyed churches before Barbarossa. When the war started he sorta restarted the church functions and called "Mother Russia" to fight back. And it worked. Anything to make him stay in power.

I'm guessing from your writing you must be near the great lakes. Is there any credence to the stories that giant catfish live in the lakes. I have seen photos of catfish bigger than a man really huge but the story was these things were bigger than anything ever caught. BTW how's the weather

Nothing that big that I've heard of. I'm not sure there are even catfish in Lake Superior? Sturgeon the biggest fish around. Mainly in the Rainy River on the border with Canada.
A 6-7 pound Bass is bragging rights north of Minneapolis, St Paul. Short growing season here. Northern Pike and Muskellunge can reach 30-40 pounds.

Heating up - mid 60's today. Weatherman saying might be a good time to have the air conditioner checked out and ready. Small lakes have opened up and ice on larger lakes turning black. Black Ice is actually a misnomer because it can be 8" thick but is honey-combed and crystal clear. Expecting our lake to open up in next day or two.

Just in passing, never passed the 87 degree mark last summer.

Looking over my aero club pv7 and still in the old box. Been reading it could be hot on eBay, but I'm not going to sell it. Definitely going to need a lot of rework, no cockpit have to open that up and build some details. No panel lines need to scribe some. Not sure how I feel about the white metal parts yet. A future project for another day... Year

It's windy some reason making me think about when I had to do a service call to point loma naval station. I meet my escort at the gate get out of my service truck and drive a boom lift up the road to an old radar tower with mostly antennas and communication equipment. Guy points to some boxes on the tower tells me there part of some base communication that goes out of calibration a lot and a Hassel to climb the tower and fix so they want them moved to ten feet from the ground. I'm like no problem. I go up the lift and I'm ten feet short won't get any higher. So I get close to the lower platform and climb on it. I have a bit of vertigo I'm OK as long as whatever I'm on feels solid, but that tower started swaying and creaking and I start shaking and sweating. I decide if I hurry I can get done and be on my way home. I can't remember why but I had to do this like at ten at night the sea breeze was pretty strong I climb the ladder to the next level and unscrewed the fastneners tek screws. The tower is really rocking im sayin God I known this thing has probably been here since wwii pleas dont let it fall. Unfastened the cables put the boxes two on the lift lower myself down remount reconnect the cables drive the lift down and park outside the gate for the lift company to pick up. Still feeling shakey and flushed drive back to oceanside stop at s Denny's for something to eat and coffee get myself back to normal. I was happy I got the job done but that was the scariest. Did a lot of work at sub PAC north island, Pendleton. Had to tie in a three phase 480 system on Pendleton, rubber mat shoes gloves pray please don't let me screw up, I'm not ready to die today. The funniest job I did for the navy was to use a boom lift to rethread the flag pole someone let the line slip thru the eye at the top of the pole I got an emergency service call to go there. I was like this is an emergency, but my escort explained they were having an inspection tomorrow and everything had to be perfect. I had picked up my lift by the gate was quite a drive to where the pole was and a drive back. The lift was really slow, I thought it was funny I was called out as an emergency service when there were a dozen booms doing construction work right by where the pole was. Must have wasted an hour just driving back and forth.

In Darwin, the dream is a "metery" Barramundi...7 pounders make good eating but are far from the largest the Barra grows. We have the ocean on one side, full of...well everything, including sail fish. and below us are many river systems full of barramundi...A metery is a fish over a meter.

The Barramundi is actually every fisherman's dream because they are so smart and know how to jump out of the water and spit the lure...its not an easy fish to land. In Darwin we have tagged a bunch of barramundi every year...if you catch one that has a tag, you can win a minimum of 10 thousand dollars...and theres always one Barra every year that is a MILLION dollars!
Interesting fact about the Barra is that all big Barra...turn into females...so its advisable to let the big ones go.

A couple of fishermen st a fresh water tournament won the huge prize of hundreds of thousands. As part of the tournament the fish is sent in for mounting. The taxidermist called the officials saying how do by get a salt water bass from a fresh water lake. The two men were arrested and charged with grand theft and fraud. Witnesses later called in saying they saw the two at a general store parking lot taking out a large ice chest and examine the fish. Apparently fraud is common in states with high dollar tournaments that some have passed specific laws against it. The following year at the same lake a woman was accused of cheating when a ten pound sinker weight was found in the fish but expert taxidermist said it had a thick coating of calcium and said most likely the fish had swallowed it years ago. Wow what great fillets for fish and chips, my nephew has a great beer batter recipe.

People up here really know their fishing...I don't think anybody would get away with cheating...We don't have a tradition of stuffing our fish either...we eat them or let them go.
Barramundi are abundant here in the Territory, but are considered an expensive delicacy down south (who have no Barramundi) - So plenty of people get ripped off down south...not knowing what to look for, and paying for any old fish...Barra has a distinctive "W" shape within its flesh, so we can quickly tell up here if we are getting real Barra or not.
Plenty of chicks get into the action here too...
