I believe that the pic was staged a day after the surrender. Stunning pic nonetheless.

    More postcards from Australia...
I thought some lesser known Australians should get a jersey today...

Rock Wallaby...There are 16 species of Rock Wallaby...they are born and live on rock outcrops, jumping from rock to rock...

Quokkas...they are the happiest animal in the world...Where they evolved there were no predators, so if you sit down, they willl come over and say hello (curious).

Just depends…you never go out of your way to bother any wildlife…In Australia we wait for them to come to us, whether you like it or not…So if a roo, or an emu, or goanna, or kookaburra turns up at your tent, car, house or whatever, you can feed them, so long as you know what they eat. If you don’t know, then don’t feed them something that might make them sick. Generally though, the rule is not to feed them…it only encourages unnatural behaviour, and they will bother people for food because it’s an easy way…They don’t have manners either : )

Yes, like ice bears in Canada eating garbage food and coming to towns for the "free meal".

I usually see them at night...their flapping wings are what you hear first and then you see a black silhouette against a grey background...
You can see in this pick why they are also called flying foxes...

In case anyone is wondering "Barbara Gordon" was Batgirl. The Bronx Zoo rescued a baby flying fox and nursed it along until it could take a place in the colony there.
