Yeah the Cassowary - Lives in Far North Queensland (AKA FNQ) - The closest thing alive to a dinosaur...


It has the ancient feathers that many dinosaurs had...not for flight but for warmth...You can see the bright colourings that the dinosaurs were thought to have also...And, look at these feet. These will mess you up. Could be the feet of any dinosaur...These "talons" can disembowel a person quick smart. Thankfully the Cassowary is a herbivore

Not to be mistaken for the Emu (Eem-you) - Like the Cassowary, has the ancient feathers and dino feet. Second largest bird in the world (second to the Ostrich) Australians love the Emu...Has the cheekiness of an Aussie


We love them so much they are on our coat of arms...The Kangaroo and Emu cannot walk backwards, symbolising Australia always moving forward "Advance Australia".


Like the Cassowary, the Emu has classic Dinosaur feet...

The people that live next to my younger son raise Emu's on their property. They seem pretty docile, don't have a clue how wild ones might act.

 

Wild ones have no manners...They will hassle any food you might have out of you...The males do all the child rearing, with the female laying the eggs and leaving! They are great Dads...I'm happy that your son gets to see some Aussie sunshine everyday...

 

Do you really in Australia watch the Eurovision contest? Since 2015 you have been here and done quite well. We understood that you had so many watchers that we gave you a chance to take part. We love it.

All 109s had that tendency thanks to the torque generated by the engine; that an undercarriage failure. Right rudder and no full throttle until you're higher.

One post-war P-51 owner overtorqued his engine as he was taking off. Flipped the bird over, crashed and killed himself.

 

Not just 109s…all single engined piston engines banked the opposite direction to the propeller…Various ‘fixes’ were used…Helicopters use a rotor to counter this…not possible on a fixed wing. Interestingly most twin engined aircraft had the propellers rotating in opposite directions to cancel out the effect.

Starting with the DB 601, the Bf 109 was overpowered. Together with the narrow undercarriage, this was the cause of countless accidents.
To get new recruits from the flight schools used to it, there were DIY conversions at the squadrons.
