Playing World War II with 6mm miniatures

Oh there are all kinds of magnifying glass stands[ with clips for holding minis or without) or head-worn magnifying glasses that you can get for $10-$20 dollars.

 

What it takes to make the camouflage whatever the size. Been there, done that . If you mean that. I will put a couple of my 12-year old start--jobs here. The ww1 planes are a pain in the ****. But look great. Cheers.

My father before his death threw pretty close all my painted miniatures into trash. I only got one Comet, one Ju 87 and one tank-buster Africa Hurricane left of those.. And my first Catalina.
I did however start painting some "newer" models but did not have the time to finish them. Sme photos of those here, Hannover fighter WW1, and I think Tempeat fighter the other, of what I had time to paint. I like painting pilots, because that takes nerves. ;I
I wente even into takimg a matchbox booklet from the store to see the paimtimg style of ww2.....Ouch!

Thank you very much. I spend a few hours on each kinds of models. This time, I have repaint the model completely because I was not happy with the result.

Those are my eyes when I need precision. They cost me about 25$ only.

Got an Airfix Battle of Britain dispersal set I bought about ten years ago, still lying half-built in the box. Saying that, I only ever started painting the actual dispersal, never mind building the vehicles or Spitfire.
Should maybe take a leaf out of you guys' books.

I have been playing table-top miniature wargames in the WWII genre for a long time. I collected and painted minis in 6mm and 15mm and have quite an extensive collection. In 6mm I have several battalions each of Commonwealth, German and Soviet armour with supporting infantry, artillery and engineering kit. In 15mm I limit myself to squadrons (companies), Troops (platoons) and smaller sections. I use to have some 25/28mm miniatures for small scale skirmish gaming but I sold those years ago to feed my smaller scale habit.

I hope you keep up your participation in the hobby and enjoy yourself immensely.

Thank you very much. Right now, I am alone. I have not found anybody that plays World War II in the Montreal area. Maybe they are on Facebook but I quit social media for good.

Right now, I am struggling. I have a batch of 6mm soviet and german vehicules and soldiers to paint. And I started also to collect, build, paint and weather 28mm vehicules and soldiers from Bolt Action game. I now have a little routine when I am painting my 6mm. I always follow the same steps (about 9 paint layers including the varnish).

 

Yeah, think I'd need a telescope myself lol.

Montréal! Well you just missed me by about four years! I used to live in DDO. Now I'm in SW Ontario. There is a vibrant wargaming community in the city. You should get in contact with the WWII gamers there. How's your French? There was quite a group of 6mm WWII gamers split between Montréal North and Laval. One chap, named André was a master at painting WWII 6mm infantry and vehicles. I think his last name was DesJardin. I played several games with him and his circle of gamers. He had a buddy named Robert Robichaud who was also into 6mm. Between them they had gathered about a half dozen other regular gamers and played quite regularly in the late 1980s to the very early 2000s. If you're looking for Anglo and Allo gamers, then there is a chap named Graham who regularly runs games, although not WWII in 6mm. However around him is a solar system of gamers, many of whom are interested in WWII I used to game with them too. They game either in the West Island or in Montréal North at the L'abyss Game store. The owner/manager there is well connected to many gamers in the greater Montréal Area. They are still very active today.

You can contact Graham through the Lead Adventure Forum where his user name is Mindenbrush. You can find some gamers on Facebook. Your in gaming central in Montréal. I wish I was still there! Gaming in this area is slim pickings. Are you on TWW by any chance? I seem to remember a StuG there too.
