    Yep. But most notable to me is his coaching of the crews who went out to ambush Yamamoto.

    Lindbergh also flew with the 348th group and many other groups in the SWPA. He was instrumental in obtaining longer range through rpm settings, manifold pressure and a few other recommendations.

    I think that Lindy recorded several unofficial kills while he was “advising” in the PTO.

    I believe that he became a bit “radioactive” after that episode. FDR wouldn’t restore his AAFR commission after Pearl Harbor over that one.

    Lindy’s situation with FDR was similar to Teddy Roosevelt’s status with Wilson after the US got into WW1. Teddy wanted permission to raise a division of Rough Riders for service in France. Wilson wouldn’t hear of it after Teddy badmouthed Wilson prior to our entry into the war.
