I drove through the gate onto Ft. Myers ! Of course it was by accident, I was looking for a parking spot to visit the Pentagon. Was lost. Pulled up to the guard, explained I'd taken a right when I should have listened to my wife and he (between giggles) gave me permission to enter the parking area and exit the facility back to the freeway.

Not to offend anyone, personally. But just thought it was a good historical photo with a rather interesting caption. They did that back then.

Important lesson about keeping security active has since been spottily learned.

And not only having contempt for the Americans battlefield prowess they also severely underestimated them as worthy opponents.

    Hmmm, I've surprised a few.

Uncle told about watching a demonstration in Japan in 1945 of a guy brandishing a Katana cutting paper, Silk and a few other items. If we had to have fought those guys things may have turned out different.

I almost don’t want to post the blurb…

    .
Photo montage used in the squadron's Christmas card, 17 February 1942. It features some of VJ-7's enterprising photographers working to get the best possible camera angles from positions aboard a Grumman J2F Duck.
