LA Manuvers and Domineos

I have put three pictures of the dominos my dad carved from fish heads while at Coal Mine Camp #9. They are in a Bento Box, POW's lunch box. The Japanese razor he used to carve them is in one of the pictures. I can't tell you how he came to have the Bento Box. He probably got it when the Japanese left the camp after the Nagasaki A-Bomb and the Japanese surrendered. Battery E was close enough to see the mushroom and feel the blast.

I am sure. Got to talk to a fellow pow when my dad died. He talked about how daddy sat in a corner every night working on them. If you read Rosie's letter you would have found out he made a violin while working at the ship yards.... and it played music. My dad could do anything he sat his mind on.
