JFS marked Panzer Assault Badges are all FAKES. This company ONLY made Panzer Assault Badges that are numbered. Meaning they have on the front only--#25, 50, 75, 100 for 25 Tank Assaults 50 Tank Assaults etc. I got duped just liek all the collectors I saw at this gunshow. These faked badges are perfect in every detail except that they used the JFS logo--on UNNUMBERED PABS--and JFS did not make unnumbered Pabs.

This is posted as a warning to you who are collecting or might want to colled these badges--I want to save you the trouble that I just went through.

Thanks to my collector/friend in Germany--Frank H.--HE saved me my $75.00 and my Bacon. I had no idea that JFS didnt make PABs--and only made the #ed PABs--thank goodness for friends like Frank who know more than I do.

Also, im glad to say that I got my money back without problems and I even re-spent $50.00 buying two US Medals.

I bought a Berlin Airlift Medal for a Uboat vet/friend of mine and a Kosovo Campaign medal.

Hi Volkbert and quite welcome. The only PAB I have is an unmarked stampes out Bronze one. I agree--shame on those that sell fakes to trick everyone in thinking they are real. These fakes I think are coming from Poland--yet once again. :( :( :(

    Hi Brad--welcome to these forums.

Me too--I cant stand to see this stuff being made to purposedly fool the buyer :(

If these were strictly made and marked for the reinactor--and sold at a decent price--I would support that--but only if it is marked as a REPO. These are coming out of places like Latvia and Poland.

    I didn't know that either. :(

Thanks Carl.........Frank knows his stuff that's for sure. Just got my silver PAB from Detlev, it's a hollow version.

Hi Mike--yeah--Frank has saved alot of us--specially me--from losing money. Im also glad he was made a moderator there too--couldnt have abetter person for the job.

Can you post a pic of your IAB here? I havent been able to get anything from Detlev in over 6 months now--too much competition. The last two items I was lucky to get were a mere King Karl Troop Cross--which I gave to a friend of mine, and an 1848-Austrian-Tirol Campaign Medal that was in mint condition. I especially like Austrian Awards--and the tri-fold ribbons. Its also the oldest piece of militaria I currently own.

By the way--if your still having troubles in being able to select an avatar--ill be sending another message to Otto later today--the library computers are having problems today.

Frank is great. AND he replies to your questions ;)

Otto told me you need 100 posts for an Avatar now. So I'm looking forward to seeing all the selections. 100 posts.....couple weeks ;) :D

I can try and post some pics.....I thinks it's a little different here than at Wehrmacht's. I'll give it a go here in a couple of days.

The competition is so bad now....I don't even mention his name anymore. That probably sounds bad.....but there's WAY to much competition as it is. I can barely log onto his site.....let alone grab anything.

Picked up a nice commemorative magazine (about 15 pages) of the history of the Bismarck. 1 copy was given to the next of kin of all crew members when she sank. It's a real nice piece.....and there's not too many around.
Besides the silver PAB, I also picked up a bronze ccc, a Krim shield with backing...a armor officer's peaked cap, and a Kriegsmarine "Donald Duck" cap.. with a Kreuzer Emden tally. And all 26 issues to 1942 Der Adler, with 1943 on their way.

Those have been my prizes over the last couple of months. My war room is looking good  too bad I'm broke :( ....no more purchases for at least a couple of months.

Owch Mike--your new items blow away mine :cool

My sentiments exactly on Frank. Next trip to Germany, he said he will show me something very interesting and left over from the war--that is located near Heidelberg--im looking forward to that too.

The most recent item I got was from Weitze which is a Spange to the 1914 EK2 (not the 1939 version but the 1957 piece. Kay told me he and weitze will be at the MAx show and had several Spanges they are taking. Mine is absolutely mint and I was surprised that the Iron Cross represented--was as highly detailed as it was--im very pleased.

Also--thanks to Kai from Finnland--he sent me a Finnish Regimental badge and an Army Armband--just got it yesterday as a matter of fact. [IMG]

Arg--Ive been looking for a Donald Duck Cap for a few years now. Every time one comes up for sale--I eather just spent alot on other stuff--or im broke--like now :( I have several KM cap tally's and a U 181 Officers Overseas cap with metal eagle, Mint Uboat badge and mint destroyer badge--and a few sets of officers shoulderboards and that rounds out my KM collection.

I know a guy locally who is selling a very nice KM NCO's peaked visor for $500.00--im hoping I can get it--its the nicest one ive seen since visiting Horst Bredow at his Archiv in Altenbruch/Cuxhaven in 2000.

Yeah--I dont really try anymore to get into "N"s site either :( shame too because its my fav.

Well Mike that's very good score in some months!! Can you post a pic of the visor. I like visors very much. Last year I managed to buy one myself. The only bad thing about is that it doesn't fit :D :D

    Thanks Volk

I'll try and get some pics of my stuff on the site soon.

My cap is a little small for me....but my girl likes to play "interrogate the spy" ever since it's arrived. ;)
The KG cap is even worse, whoever had this had a head the size of a grapefruit. :D

The items I've passed on lately are.....a para helmet (bad gut feeling about originality) a LAH wehrpass ( a little $$$$...and I was broke).

    I'm addicted to collecting.

Mike we can shake hands, I am also addicted. It really started last year. Before I bought some badges and tinnies. Now I have a tunic, a visor, two daggers, two campaign shields, CCC bronze, cased EK I, three photo albums, cased anschluss medal and some dutch ns stuff (see thread Recent additions to my collection).

I must say that internet is the motor behind the addiction, the dealers with their sites and last but not least this forum and the wehrmacht-awards forum.

My Artillery Offiziers Peaked Visor is a bit too big for my head--but I think when Greg wore it--I think it fit him better. :D At least he could fit into the Arty Offz tunic--I sure cannot. ;)
