Before I forget--to everyone Happy Thanksgiving.

Hope all of you are going to have a nice one. Me--my family is all going out of town--so I will be doing a lot of catching up on my sleeping on Thursday and Friday--since the libraries will be closed and I cannot access a computer anyway. That and i'll be watching part of a James Bond marathon Thursday. How about you?

 

Thanks and same to all. Watching the Longhorn/Aggie fued. Gig' em Aggies!!! Also will be watching the Bond marathon. Staying at home this year so no travel. As far as the weekend, just chilling out. Have a good meine freund.

 

Thank you my friend--and have a swig of Cinnamon Schnapps for me will ya? All I can afford this year is a bottle of Egg Nog--but sipped from Czecholslovakian Chrystal glasses with pure silver rims.

Ahhhhh, theres nothing like drinking Egg Nog from a Chrystal glass.

We don't 'do' Thanksgiving 'over here' but a friend of mine originally from California has a great dinner party on the closest Sunday every year. So.. all the best to all of you 'over there'...

Too bad the world isnt sharing this kind of holiday--everyone would be too stuffed to make war--at least for a few weeks.

Just back from our Californian friend's Annual London Thanksgiving Dinner -

Hot rum and cranberry punch, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potato, wine, pumpkin pie, cream, raspberry cheesecake, blueberry and lemon cake, cranberry and nut cake, coffee.....

I think the little faces ( Graemlins ) tell how you felt during the dinner but in reverse order, I think...Just kidding

I have to ask the same Martin, di you eat all of that ? ! Burp !!! yep, I feel the same way as my wife's family visited a country club and had a huge buffett at over 20.00 a plate. A rip off, but I guess you have to look at the atmosphere. It was good to have almost all of my wife's side of the family present. We crazy American's of course have to celebrate this as well as Christmas all way too close to one another, and it is a continued celebration fromthe November date right to January 10th. A little American, German and Irish/Scotch.

HOLY COW ERICH!!!!!!!!!! $20.00 BUCKS A PLATE?!?!?! and I thought that $8.75 for a plate at the resturant Sarge and I ate at was pushing the expenses a bit.

 

I have to confess that the raspberry cheesecake was a dessert too far....

 

Carl: Yep, it came to $60.00 even with tip.....what a stinkin rip off with the next family reunion table within baking up distance.....really sucked. Could of spent the monies better at Taco Bell !...... Uk

Martin did the raspberry cheesecake have the wonderful drizzle of chocolate over it ? ......yeah ! too rich for my blood though.

Martin--you havent had good Cheesecake if you have never tried German Cheesecake @$#*&$*%&&@& (the sound of licking chops)

Also--you need to try their Black Forrest Cake---Ahhhh Wunderbar......

 

Yes, the Schwartzwald is great! I can also recommend the Budapest.

Erich--youse and I--we got robbed I could have for $25.00--got a 14 pound turkey--fully cooked and ready to eat--with 3 pounds of Stuffing and another pound of mashed potatoes and a pound of cranberry sauce--. Next time--I go for the prepared meal and will have it at home.
