Support our troops in Iraq and elsewhere. Our troops protect the best nation in the world and its interests. Be Brave Be Safe
I fully support our troops 100% I support the American, Australian and British troops completely. There are also Polish Soldiers serving in Iraq as well as Germans and Danes. [ 01. April 2003, 12:48 PM: Message edited by: C.Evans ]
I DO NOT support them. I just hope they carry out their duty (good or bad) and that they won't be harmed. That's all. They doesn't have why to die. However, I cannot tolerate this phrase. When was the US declared the best nation on Earth? Is it there in the almanque?
The US has the best military forces, indeed. There's no doubt, since they expend more than 300.000.000.000 dollars a years on it. But you DIDN't say, the nation with the best military... I do not want to fight. Just to point out that that is not an adequate sentence or adjactive for your nation.
I support the troops but the US spending a trilion dollars on the war so far is obscene.(according to CNN) Think of all the good things that money could do instead of destroying. I don't even know how many zeros are in a trilion and I guess I did not even spell it correct.
Just like back in the 1960s, where the "best nation in the world" with the "best military" formidably lost a war against illiterate, barefoot gooks. I support the illegal U.S. and British aggression on Iraq as much as I support Hitlers attack on Poland or USSR, or Saddams aggression on Kuwait or the undeclared Vietnam War: Not a smidgen. But I understand that Americans /Britons are currently supporting their troops as long as the number of bodybags coming back isn't too high. This nationalistic reflex is not uncommon and widespread even among those second class people who (un)fortunately haven't a passport issued from the "best nation in the world". Cheers,
The problem with this statment, is that it is so open. It could apply to any one or any naton. But of course, we all know it applies to the US. Well, those of us who are not Americans can, and often do, take offence. I have seen these sort of statments many times on the net, and they always refer to the US. Just remember, its WWW, for WORLD Wide Web, not AWW, for America Wide Web. As for the US haveing the best miltary, not a chance. Most powerfyl, yes, but best... Would this include the numd nuts manning patriot missile systems.
Thumbs up, Erwin, Tank152, Andy and Bish! You have Friedrich's 100% support. Nine: Bloody British humour...

Yes, very good. But instead of having a dig at the French, and believe me, as a Englishman, i can think of no better past time , how about addressing some of the issues brought about in response to your original post.
You see there is funny, and then there is raceism. I am sorry V-Slav but you are really hacking me off. Do you not watch the news? The 'best military' has already started killing their allies and actually are taking casualties due to gross stupidity and bad planning. I have friends in Iraq now who are more afraid of the US forces than the Iraqis, that includes a Marine and a Falklands vet so I think they know what they are talking about. Your 'best military' appears to be blind and to have no knowledge of history ('biggest force assembled in history' according to a Lt.Gen in the US Army) and have a really weird attitude to taking cover (hmm, we are under fire, lets sit on top of a bank and shout at each other ). How about taking your rabid nationalism somewhere else, you may like your nation a lot but frankly it is not the 'best' nation (otherwise how come it is hated by so many?), there is no best nation. Your military is not the best, they may be the most powerful but I dont think any military that kills more of its allies than the enemy do can be considered the best by any definition. Don't slag off the French, I think you will find that they defended against the Germans in 1939-40 more than the US did, same goes for WW1. Your nation is not perfect, may be a fine nation, may be powerful, may have produced some very fine individuals, many of whom inhabit this forum, but it is not perfect. By the way, you said 'this is made to support troops', aside from being grammatically iffy, you may want to reprase it as 'this was intended to support US troops', we have already seen that it offends many including British and Australian (probably) servicemen (and women). By the way, I do not support the war but I do support the troops who are fighting it because soldiers have a bad lot, have a hard job and are risking their lives for us, I have the upmost respect for servicemen as anyone who knows me will tell you and I wish them all the best in this conflict, all I am saying is stop with the nationalism. It is sickening, racist and misplaced.
It's not bad planning. The Iraqis attack secondary forces which are people who have little or no weapons. Its kind of easy to kill someone from the back. Real servicemen are in the battles fighting for what's right.
I support the coalition troops and their hard work for American. I address this mainly to U.S troops since I'm from U.S. Be my guest and do the same!
