Currently working for a data distribution company which specialises in oil and gas data.

Nearly half of my time is spent working unsociable hours as we're a 24/7 support centre for global operations when there is next to nothing to do apart from surf the web.

Since finding this wonderful site my nightshifts go alot quicker! Never have I learnt more about WWII and got paid for it at the same time. :D

    Brian,
I noticed from your profile that you mention assaulting positions named "Hillman" and "Morris" on D-Day.
If memory serves, 3rd Div. built replicas of these positions at Moffat in the Scottish borders, to add authenticity to the pre-D-Day training.
Is this true, did you help build them, and can you remember roughly where they were built around Moffat?
I ask because I would like to see them added to the Defence of Britain database, and recorded for posterity. I would also like to see them entered in the National Monuments Record for Scotland, and any information regarding them would be credited to youself, rather than to me.
I have a book on 3 div's exploits, but it says the position of "Hillman" and "Morris" is both unknown as replicas in Scotland, and actual locations on D-Day. Can you shed any light?

    Regards,
    Gordon

I graduated in History last year, currently tutoring High School kids on a private basis. Also do a bit of writing, research into Axis PoWs in Britain, and an amateur archaeologist in military/battlefield archaeology.
Thinking about going back to uni in September for a Masters, but we'll see.
