Hey Not sure if i've asked this question before, but who is the oldest forum member here? And i dont mean age. You'll notice it says Member Number #### when you post, so i was wondering who is the oldest (aka lowest) number. And Otto - you dont count in this one! I think as far as i can remember i am Member # 19....so anyone have a number lower then me? And yes, my post number definately doesnt correlate with my member number, but i've def been around since almost the beginning of these Forums. I think i should get a special Medal for being perhaps the 'oldest' member
Mussolini, you can go to the directory and browse by member number to see all of them from the first. or here is the link... http://www.ww2forums.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=directory;d=browse;sorder=0 you are certainly one of the oldest active members.
Didnt see that there - thanks! Only problem is that it doesnt tell you when they were last active - or at least, last posted. I am not sure how many of them will be purged next time Otto decides to send people off to the Gulag... >
I guess the honor belongs to you Mussolini, and as I've often said post count doesn't mean a thing. Quality counts over quantity every time. A little history of the WWII Forums: this Forum started out way back in June 1999, on a free public Forum portal, over at ezboard.com. It was actually registered on D-1, June 5th. After a few hundred posts, I found that this was ok, but the constant ads and lack of control forced me to get my own site with my own software. The first true launch date for the WWII Forums, on ww2forums.com was early November, 1999. Unfortunately, I had several difficulties at the time, including a damaging attack by a cracker, (no not a hacker), and had to re-install the software three times in the year 2000 alone. If you take a look at the registrations, no one is registered prior to September 2000, although this only reflects the time of the third re-install. The exact launch date of the WWII Forums is therefore a little muddy, but I've just stuck to January 1st, 2000 since it's close to the true date, and is a nice round number too. Furtunately I've gotten a lot better at securing the website since then, and have had no really major problems since the year 2000.
sad but many of the original members have either left or fell ill and left the face of the earth, as I do not see any of them on the most popular of ww2 web-sites at present the last years till ven now
I spoke to Crapgame about a month or so ago and he's doing fine, TA. He's just taking a sabbatical for a while, he'll be back in his own good time.
