    Hi Jpatterson,

I think Jarkko Ruutu is a bit like "Esa Tikkanen" type of player. He is not there to score like you can see from stats, but his playing style tends to pick lots of minutes in the penalty box. However he is the kind of guy nobody wants to play against. He can make the other team´s star players go nuts and he always goes where the game gets rough. (He actually donates alot of money to good things even if I often think he´s totally crazy in the games.)

I don´t know if the new rules are bad for him
( more penalties? ) but I can tell there will be action in the box...the guy´s not afraid to tackle or to be tackled!

The news on him is he does accumulate lots of penalty minutes but he's solid defensively. Led the league in blocked shots last season with 170 or some crazy number. Being an agitator or someone the other teams hate is much needed here. We haven't had that since Ulf Samulson.

    Thanks Kai.

    No problem, JP!

I´m sure we will soon hear of the man even in the pre-season games...

    ;) ;)

Just read someone´s trying to buy Pittsburgh Penguins and take it away to..Kansas?? Or he might keep it in Pittsburgh once a new arena was built?!

It's rather complicated Kai. Mario and his group are selling. The city is trying to keep the team here. Also, Isle of Capri gaming company has offered to build a new arena if they receive a gaming liscence in Pennsylvania. That is a factor concerning whether the prospective new owners will move the team. Also, the NHL has to approve any deals that include a move to another city.

Shoot, now I've confused myself. I guess we have to wait and see what happens. If they move out I'll be very upset.

That sounds like what they have been doing for a while. Either you build a new arena or the team goes away. I think that happened quite a few times some ten years ago.

I know for sure Mario did not mean it this way but I suppose he cannot do much anymore once the team is sold. Or have they sold it already?

Not sold yet. Can't blame Mario for any of this. He did save the team once, but he needs to worry about himself and his family. I'm hoping the City will work some type of deal. We'll see.

Hey, as a Flames fan I can give you a scouting report.
He is a pro diver who plays hockey. He is a big wuss/coward who makes his living by diving and challening people to fights and running away. He is my most hated player in the leauge, I am glad to see he is out of the NW division. Best of luck with him :D .
