I thought here we could share with eachother the various firearms we own and maybe discuss others that we want to get. My current collection: An old Springfield .22 - bolt action single shot Marlin .22 - Scoped bolt action with a five shot magazine Remington 34 .22 - This is my favorite small calibur weapon I own. It was left to me by my grandfather and is the oldest firearm I own. It's a bolt action rifle with a tubular magazine that you can remove from the front. It's really a beauty. It's at the gunsmith right now where I am trying to get it drilled and tapped for a scope. Savage .17 - This is a bolt action rifle with a synthetic stock and a scope. It's really a small calibur but the cartridge is huge. It's considerably more powerful than my .22's Remington 94 30-30 - This is another beauty. It's a lever action that my father bought 20 or so years ago and he refinished the whole thing. SKS 7.62mm - A great assault rifle. An all around good weapon. Semi automatic with a seven shot magazine I believe. I have a bayonet that can be mounted on it as well. The only thing I have a problem with is how short the stock is. Savage .270 - Bolt action with a synthetic stock. This qualifies as the most accurate rifle I own. Once you get used to this rifle it doesn't take much talent to make one hole with three bullets at 150 yds. It's got quite a bit of recoil but nothing terrible. My next investment is going to be for a new deer rifle. I am deciding between a Mosberg .308 and a Savage 30-06.

I have a Remington 870 Express and it's all I need baby. Fitted with a slug barrel with open sights. Get me some fine Pennsylvania venison with it every year. Haven't missed yet. The day that New York State bans rifles is the day that I stop hunting deer every fall and start hunting politicians. On another note I got this very nice nickle plated 1911 Colt .45 blank firing replica in the mail today. That's the closest you get to the real thing in the People's Republic of New York.
I have an old 16 ga. single shot shotgun that makes lots of noise ! An even older .22 single shot rifle that is very quiet. A .38 snub nose revolver that I can't hit the side of a barn with.

On another note, since I started this topic over a year ago a few additions to the collection have been: Mossberg SS1 30-06- This is the deer rifle I bought. Still haven't bagged a deer but I haven't fired a shot at one yet. It is very accurate and I reccomend it. Mauser 1895 7mm- Very cool pick up. My dad and I split the buy on this one. It was made in Germany for the Chilean army. It is in near mint condition and shoots great. Mosin Nagant Carbine 7.62 x 54mm- I'm not sure of the exact name of this thing, I don't feel like going downstairs to check. My dad bought this one. It shoots ok with a fairly hefty recoil. Came with a bayonet that swings out on the side of the rifle. Ruger 30-06 bolt action- Another buy made by my dad. Nice wood stock, good looking rifle, accurate.
Two Garands (useless.. theres something missing, wont work) 1 Kar98k 3 Mosin Nagants, there pretty cool some old hunting rifles, not very interested. a few pistolas .. have no idea what they are!

1898 production 30-40 Krag Carbine. I've been told it's the rarer Phillippine Contract-but I can't prove it. Anyway, it has an original period Rock-Island Arsenal leather sling-still in great condition. I also have two boxes of 20 rounds for this baby. 1935 Mauser Sniper varient which fires 8x57mm rounds. This baby has a much much rarer 25 round fixed MG-13 magazine-which is correct and is marked 1936. This baby has had only four owners since it's creation. 1) The Curator of the Mauser Museum in Oberndorf circa 1945. 2) The G.I. who took this rifle from teh Museum. 3) The Mauser dealer in Houston, Texas-who bought this Mauser from that Vet. 4) Me - the guy who purchased it from said Mauser dealer back in 1998. This rifle has documented only 50 rounds having ever been fired from it -none since WWII. This rifle is in stone mint condition and was 1 of only 200 or less, made. If you have not seen the photo of it posted here a few years ago, you can always see a VERY close copy of mine pictured in vol 2 of: "Backbone of the Wehrmacht." Finally, an AC-43 made Walther P-38 Pistol. All matching as those above are also, and in near mint condition. Has twin brown bakelite grips. The magazine that came with it is a repo as the dealer stupidly sold the original with a Walther made in 1963 >:-(( I gave to my Nephews for a Christmas presant, my 1913 Swedish Mauser which fires a 6.5 x 55 cartridge. This baby is a dream to fire and has a 1 inch drop for 1 mile range. This is a Carl Gustafstadt Mauser. Is also in mint condition. Stolen was: A mint conditioned early November '41 contract BYF Walther P-38 w/ matching magazine. Stupidly gotten rid of was: 1942 Remington made Colt .45 w/ OD Green Parkerization. This baby was presented to 2 star General Francis P. Hardaway - who was an Artillery General who served under MacArthur in the Phillippines. This man was also the first to head-up the Civil Air Patol in 1947. I've been kicking myself ever since for getting rid of it.
AND I forgot my Alpine 30-06 bolt action rifle, AND my 1895 Krag Joergensen in original condition. (the other is converted (my grand-dads service rifle))
