I was talking about guns that are used to train, both at firing and maintening, ppl doing their military service, they fire about 150-250 rounds a week, during 30 years (well, if they even can make it for 30 years).

It's not the same as an officer's personal ordinance weapon which is used by the same person, and maintained by its user.

I hope you have not being hanging around firing 200 rounds a week for 30 years with the same gun ROFL

wow, that is very cool, at this point to me, it looks like an "airsoft" or BB gun, lol but i think it would do well, resembles the AK in many ways...

My first G-3 was a 1968 model issued at the compulsary army service back in the early 90ies. With an average of 3 shooting sessions a week that means around 200-300 rounds fired per week. In addition blanks fired during field drills that is a lot of wear and tear.

Nonetheless I made the marksman badge with the G-3. The G-3 is a sturdy weapon with easy change of parts that are worn out. I had to change one part of my first G-3 but it never missed a beat.

The 1972 model I use now is the same thing. Every Monday night the Officers meet for shooting. It has yet to let me down. So far in 2006 I have fired 2040 rounds with the gun.

The G-3 has a reputation for durability, but I did not think it could withstand 30+ years of such a treatment, even if well maintained.

If these guns have been as intensely used by their previous owners since they were built and before you got them, without having many parts changed overtime, I'm impressed.

There is nothing like the sound of an ejected 7.62 cartridge hitting a pavement beside you....Ok not as good a statemnt as Napalm in the morning...but give me the good old British SLR, as tough as bricks, and pretty acurate single fire shot.

    Re: Nikonov AN-94

    Caliber: 5.45x39 mm
    Maximum effective range: 700 meters

Somehow this doesn't compute, it's a small round combined with a 16" barrell,
how can it be effective out to 700 M?
I am into reloading and wildcatting and as far as I can see that bullet will have nothing left at 500M.
