    Hello,

I was given a ammo box by a friend who wasn't sure about it's history. He thinks it might be from WWII. I have a hunch but I was wondering if the great people at these forums could maybe shine some light onto this matter.

I took a few pictures of it along with measurements and posted them onto a page. Click here to visit the web page.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could help me out, thanks.

It appears to be a US 250-round M25 ammo box for a .30 caliber machine gun. The embossing of the cartridge is to indicate which way to place the linked ammo belt in the box.

Also this seems to have originated with EMCO Inc of Gadsden, Alabama ( who are now known as Stamped Products Inc ).

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate all the help you guys did on finding out what it is. There is only one other thing I would like to know about the ammo box, do you think it was used in WWII or in a war after it?
