Heh, heh. Outstanding job, White Flight!!! I never thought of photoshopping a model. I love the F4U air support! Thank you!!!
Great job Shlitz. That mud effect is exactly what is missing in my models. How did you do it? Don't tell me that you drove it right into your backyard in a rainy day.I am hungry for information.
Kerem, I use dry pigments for the mud. These were purchased at an art supplies store. Dick Blick, I believe. They come in dry powder form and I simply mix it with water and dab it on.
Oh, I see. Thanks Sergeant. I think I'll have some trouble finding that here. I'll just drive mine into the mud. Or go online shopping and pay $50 just for the shipping. And by the way, have you thought of placing that model on a platform that looks like earth with track traces on it?
Glade you like it. I felt rather silly overlooking the obvious theater though. There's a shot of a destroyed Japanese armored vehicle in my father-in-laws album. I'll edit it some time this week, black and white of course.
Kerem, you can also use pastel chalk by sanding it into powder and mixing in a few drops of water. You should have an art supply somewhere nearby. Or maybe getting some fine dust mixed with water. I'm working on some palm trees for a dio now. I think I'll have it sunk down into the sand.
Great work!!! I'm stealing your pics, BTW. What program are you using? I gotta learn how to do that! Thanx a million!
Thanks Sarge. Feel free to use the photos however you wish. I’m using Photoshop on a G5, creating a multilayer PSD and editing to enhance. I’m in the graphic-arts field. I might edit the blast from a 90-mm antiaircraft gun to the tip of the barrel on the Cuddles tank. We’ll see. Rather busy right now. Interesting about using pastel chalk for graphic enhancement. Do you adhere it to the surface some how or does it just dry on?
I found this Tamiya pen on a Turkish web site, it says mud effect pen, does anyone know if it is any good?
Kerem, I use those pens occasionally. They are really good. I usually wet a brush with water and drag it across the tip and dab it on. They also have some that are packaged like a cosmetic case which I use more frequently. They can also be diluted with water. A good trick to use is using a stiff paintbrush and flicking the bristles with your finger to make mud splatters.
