This would drive through the D-Day beaches, Caen, Dieppe, the V1 sites in northern France, Hoek van Holland and then you could cross the dike and go to Groningen. The Ardennes would have to be on the way back , but in between you would have Arhnem!

that sounds great, i could stop in at Nijmegen, Eindhoven, as long as they are all accessible by train that sounds like a good plan to me!

Oh yes the Durch train network is very dense and will easily take you to the towns mentionned. For smaller villages there are buses.

Cheers Martin but this thread is now 3 years old and I don't think Bigfun eventually went to Europe in 2009

Well it's been quite some time since I read this thread! And after waiting a very very long time, I'm flying over next month! I have 5 weeks at my disposal, so I have much to see. Most of which will be centered around friends and family. I fly into London, want to spend a few days there, then off to France. Really want to walk the Boise Jacques woods. Hope to find a room to rent near the area. After a few days or a week, off to Holland. Visits with relatives all over the country and then to Amsterdam. Putting together my itinerary now. Thanks again for everyone's input here. If you have any further advice please let me know.ThanksScott
