I never heard of a Honey kangaroo but it looks like someone did a similar conversion (removed the turret and used it as a infantry carrier) on a M5 light (or possibly a M3A3 that was very similar) , knew this was sometimes done but don't know if that conversion has an official name, the one behind it looks a cast hull M4 Sherman medium with the early narrow gun mantlet but it's too blurry to be certain.

It's an M3 Stuart Turretless Honey and this photo is the nearest I've been able to find that resembles my own tank in the 4th Queen's Own Hussars.

Kangaroos were much bigger and we used the Priest version to carry infantry into battle.

    ps

The pic shows me & a Honey tank at Latrun Tank Museum and there's this, from my memoirs:

My first shock on joining "A" Squadron was to find the following:
    l. I had been assigned as wireless operator to the squadron sergeant
major, one Sgt. Major "Busty" Thomas, as Welsh as it was possible to be.
    2. His tank wasn’t the nice, solid-looking Sherman on which I had been
trained for the past three months, but was instead a Stuart tank from the 8th
Army desert days. To compound the felony its turret had been removed and
the only protection "up top" was a canvas hood that was designed to keep
    the rain off.

Was your tank the early "boxy" version likethe one at Latrum or the later sloped armour one like in the first picture?

Another "funny" though Percy Hobarth had nothing to do with it.
(the attach appeared to be broken tried to restore it)

More like the earlier picture which is a dead ringer for the Honey I knew.

Must tell you about my morning at Latrun.

When I was being shown round the museum, I explained to the boss man, Brig.General Kan Tor, that my Honey was turretless. He replied "If you'd given us enough time, we could have taken the turret off for you". :)

It's the Ho-K , ,armoured rams are not a Japanesese exclusive idea. AFAIK the Germans planned something similar on a Porshe tiger chassis, and the British did use Centurions for some very radical "houseclearing" operations at Suez.
