    Too hard!

I suppose I should explain what a Bangalore Torpedo was...

    Easier Question.

    What was Kofuku Maru??

A Japanese fishing vessel seized (at outbreak of war) and taken over by Austrailian captain Bill Reynolds. Evacuated folks fleeing, and led others in escape right under the noses of the advancing Japanese. Sailed to Ceylon (a bit shot up) and given a new name...Krait (a small poisonous snake)
Also a Maru sunk by USS Silversides, March 19th? On her ninth mission.

    on her 9th patrol.
    Cargo ship, 1,920 tons

I think maybe it's the fishing boat of which you speak?

Your first part was correct, partially.

    What did the Krait achieve?

America repeated the largely discredited but highly popular Battlecruiser with the building of CB's. Large Cruisers to counter a rumored construction of Battlecruisers by Japan in 1940-41. The "Alaska's" (of which only 2 were completed) were built anyway, knowing the Japanese had not proceeded with their Battlecruiser program.
Alaska & Guam proved to be excellent Carrier escorts for 3 reasons.
    What were they?
The Kofuku Maru is definately a source for National pride!! for Australia especially.
It's crew would have been executed as spies if caught.
They brought hope to the Allies when all else was falling apart by fighting back and winning when all odds were solidly against us.
    Cheers!...and then some.
    WELL DONE.

Speed...33 knots, same machinery as Essex class carriers.

    Endurance...12,000 miles

    Anti-Aircraft... 12 5in DP, 56 40mm, 30-34 20mm

    Another question
How many Shermans were lost (due to enemy action)(IED's, mines, "human" torpedoes, anti-tank guns), on Iwo Jima?
    Within 5 is close enough.

    Something easier
What were the "3" (they got 1 of them) things Japan wanted as terms for their surrender?

The one term that they got was Hirohito remained Emperor of Japn. As for the other two, I have no idea.

They wanted NO occupation, and they wanted to try their own war criminals in Japanese courts. The little buggers must have known they were dirty!
    Good enough!!!
    Your go!

You won't believe me but I was going to say no occupation but I wasn't sure. Well anyway, here's mine: Who was the only American to serve in both the US Army and Red Army during the war?

    K?
    Here's a question.
Name a British plane used by the Americans?
Not just the motor, we all know the Twang had a Merlin, the whole thing, as is...was.
I can think of 3 off the bat!

I'm looking for the guy's name. He jumped in to Normandy with the Screaming Eagles. He was captured, escaped, and joined the Red Army.
