The near one is a Wespe and the far one looks like a Panzer III Ausf. G or H.

The LVT-4. Heck, it's as good an "assault gun" as the M-18 Hellcat. Puny armor but well sloped. And if it got into trouble, it could swim away.

Which one was that? They had a few. For example the Semovente M40 75/18 ,Semovente M42L da 105/25, Semovente M41M da 90/53.

Well the Semovente M40 75/18 and Semovente M42L da 105/25 were considered quite good and the Germans used them after the Armistice.

Not quite a favourite perhaps, the Archer may hold that title for me, but these are currently for sale as a set on Milweb, & Frankly I think I could force myself to love it:

I understand that the Germans loved these. Looks like a StuG but doesn't smell like one. Too much Italian seasoning but the vino is just fine thank you.

Ferdinand/Elefant. Post-Kursk deployment, once some of the mechanical issues had been worked on and the MG installed. Huge gun, tons of armor, and... well, just pretty badass.

According to wikipedia (hate using it, but it is easiest)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elefant), "In terms of kills per loss, the Ferdinand/Elefant might well have been the most successful tank-destroyer employed during the war, reaching an average ratio of approximately 10:1."

Accurate? Seems possible, if not likely. Though mostly used in defensive/semi-stationary roles for obvious reasons- so this would definitely help the kill/loss ratio. Easier to knock out enemy vehicles when one just has to sit in a good firing position and shoot from long range.

Honorable mention- Hetzer. Possibly the best "bang for your buck" afv the germans produced.

wow, that's cool about the Elephant CrazyD. Funny lots of sources put them down as a bad design, yet they sure did an outstanding job at killing enemy armor-even at Kursk when they were new.
