Yup. Adam was correct. Those wheels are dread awful. What I noticed was that the Cupola was too big and the Stug did seem a bit narrow. Overall not bad to the unsuspecting eye. I wouldn't throw it out of the garage.

Very Nice Martin. The Canopy is in excellent condition! 3500£ may seem expensive , but it's a fair price if you want the real thing.

 

I can't believe I'm missing this.

 

Some of my faves from this years show, big thanks to all involved including the big man upstairs who only delivered two very short showers.

The hulk was recovered some years ago from a firing-range and has been brought back to life - but cosmetically, it looks

 

..didn't go either ....still bear the scars from last year

 

The last time I went to Beltring was in 1999 and it felt a little different this time. A lot mellower, and a lack of people standing by their vehicles proudly talking about them. Maybe they were at lunch, or maybe they were off enjoying other things but I missed chatting with them.

A fantastic day out regardless, here are a couple of pics (please excuse my granddad being in a couple!)

A very warm welcome to the Forum, 39/516 STRE ! Any Beltring enthusiasts are always welcome here ( and I mmust say, your Grand-dad looks as sturdy as that Matador ! )

 

Yeah he's a sturdy chap, loves a bit of english breakfast now and again!

Felt good to be back again, like we'd been missing out on a part of our summer. i'll try and upload some more photo's when I get a moment.

 

I loved the fueller too. Built by Thompson Brothers (Bilston) Ltd. circa 1940-44, this is a Mk V, I believe, and a rare survivor.



A very good show this year as ever. The PzKpfw 38(t) was wonderful and there did seem to be an excellent turnout of British softskins. Very healthy considering the current fuel prices.

That Colander M3 was the first of the breed to reach the UK, It always gives me a warm feeling as it rumbles by. Apologies for repetition to visitors of WW2 Talk but here's the first shots I've sorted out from yet another splendid & strange few days in Kent, it never really fails to impress. Highlight for me was probably the loons in the postwar Soviet stuff nearly rolling OT90s & T72s etc. . The only rain was just enough to keep the dust down too.
(British softskins indeed! Would have been so nice to see all those Bedfords, Katys, & Tillys parkedin one place... or even better, in convoy.)

Mmmmm....another Opel Blitz....I missed that one, although I think I prefer the 2BG one which looked rather 'dustier'.....
